Gisele Bündchen defends fellow supermodel for saying she will ‘not be forced’ to get the jab

Gisele Bündchen is adamantly defending fellow supermodel Doutzen Kroes after her post on Instagram proclaiming she will “not be forced” into taking a COVID vaccination received harsh criticism from some of her fans.

“Other people have given me hope and strength with their courage to stand up for our rights. They touched my heart and inspired me to do the same. So although my hands are shaking while writing this, I feel it is time to choose courage over comfort and speak my truth,” Kroes declared.

“I will not be forced to take the shot. I will not be forced to prove my health to participate in society. I will not accept exclusion of people based on their medical status,” the Dutch model wrote at length on Instagram to her 6.8 million fans. It was her first post in six months.

“Freedom of speech is a right worth fighting for but we can only solve this united in peace and love!” she continued. “Pass on the torch of hope and love and speak your truth. ❤️.”

As criticism rolled in, Bündchen stood up for Kroes, commenting on her post, “I know Doutzen, and she is a kind and loving person. I can’t believe the hate being directed at her because she expressed her feelings.”

“It saddens me to see all the judgment and the lack of empathy in so many peoples hearts. Hate is not [the] answer,” Bündchen, one of the world’s highest-paid models, remarked. “The only way we can create a better world is through compassion and acceptance. I invite you to silence your mind and go deep within to find love in your heart so we can all unite in peace and create harmony in our lives and in our world. We need it more than ever.”

It’s unknown whether Bündchen is vaccinated but her husband, NFL quarterback Tom Brady, was vaccinated along with his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates.

Brady revealed earlier this year that he contracted COVID while celebrating his team’s Super Bowl win, despite being fully vaccinated.

Commenters on Kroes’ Instagram page slammed her for taking a personal stand on COVID vaccinations.

“So irresponsable [sic] 😔,” one person harshly wrote. “and even more irresponsible to post this online with so many followers.”

Another arrogantly warned, “If too many people will refuse to get vaccinated, new variants of the virus will be spread and that means that even the people who chose to get vaccinated will be at risk, which is not fair at all.”

Others hit out at Bündchen for supporting Kroes.

“Peak rich people not caring about COVID or public health,” one commenter carped according to Meaww. Another asked, “woman for god’s sake, will you defend anti-vaccine?”

A commenter chastised her, saying, “shame! The world struggling to develop and produce vaccines and this is shameful little talk!” Yet another replied, “NO Gisele for God’s sake, NO!!!”

Kroes isn’t the only superstar who is refusing to get the jab. Others who remain very skeptical over getting vaxxed reportedly include Nicki Minaj, Olivia Newton-John, Elon Musk, and Rob Schneider.

The hate rolled in:

Despite heavy blowback, Kroes received tremendous support on social media:
