Hours after posting DNA results claiming proof Ilhan Omar married her brother, GOP op is arrested by FBI

The FBI arrested Minnesota GOP operative Anton Lazarro on underage sex trafficking charges shortly after he posted online what he contends is DNA evidence that shows Rep. Ilhan Omar was married to her brother.

He was busted just hours after posting his findings according to reporter Miranda Devine at the New York Post. They were up briefly on his site, IlhanOmarDNA.com before they were taken down on Wednesday.

His purported test results claim that there is a 99.999998 percent chance that the representative and her second husband, Ahmed Elmi, are brother and sister. They are now divorced. The findings come from a British company called Endeavor DNA Laboratories.

Before Lazarro had a chance to disseminate his findings to the media and public, he was arrested on Thursday and charged with underage sex trafficking. He is now sitting in jail awaiting a court hearing on Monday.

He is denying the charges but the media is gleefully running with them. It remains to be seen if he is guilty or not, but the timing seems very, very convenient.

He was charged with five counts of sex trafficking of a minor, a count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors, and another count of attempted sex trafficking, along with three counts of obstruction, according to an unsealed indictment as reported by Axios. He is accused of allegedly recruiting six minor victims to engage in commercial sex acts according to KARE 11.

Omar’s spokesman Jeremy Slevin slammed the DNA report. “This is a fraudulent website created by a man charged this week with child sex trafficking and lying to federal investigators to cover it up,” he deflected in a statement.

Lazarro was joined in his efforts to expose Omar’s supposed marriage to her brother by a group of conservative donors. They have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars spanning three continents while hiring private investigators to get to the bottom of the contentious issue. They were able to locate Elmi in the UK and somehow procure his DNA from a drinking straw. The group was able to get Omar’s DNA reportedly from the saliva on a cigarette butt.

Omar has repeatedly denied that Elmi is her brother. She calls the claim “absurd,” “offensive,” and “absolutely false.”

Special Agent Joy Hess, from the FBI’s Twin Cities field office, claims the “statute of limitations” has run out on the case. That is the office charged with investigating whether Omar was, in fact, married to her brother to avoid immigration laws. Hess was recorded by an associate of Lazarro and that conversation was posted on his site Wednesday as well. Hess purportedly said that the FBI could not pursue the case because Omar’s ex-husband had moved overseas.

“The statute of limitations is over,” Hess allegedly stated. “According to the US Attorney’s office, The Statute of Limitations is not something we can overcome in that matter… The individual in question left the country so there’s nothing to [do],” she said.

Hess was asked if the new DNA evidence would be examined and responded, “All I can just say is that according to the United States Attorney’s Office the Statute of Limitations limits what we can do in this matter.”

There is no statute of limitations concerning immigration fraud. There is also evidently no intention to look into the matter as it pertains to the Squad member. Lazarro was suddenly arrested in Democratically-controlled Minneapolis as he was posting what he claims is proof that Omar was married to her brother in a case of immigration fraud.

This alleged evidence could have been found and secured by the FBI if they had ever intended to really investigate the matter. They are tellingly mum on the issue.

The FBI may be trying to sweep the issue under the rug, but those on Twitter are still incensed by it:
