A top NAACP official in Virginia shocked parents and community leaders as she railed against Critical Race Theory opponents and “anti-equity” individuals, viciously stating, “Let them die” on Thursday.
NAACP Vice President Michelle Leete stood outside a middle school in Fairfax County and spoke out against anyone standing in the way of Critical Race Theory, according to video footage posted online.
“Let’s deny this off-key band of people that are anti-education, anti-teacher, anti-equity, anti-history, anti-racial … anti-opportunities, anti-help people, anti-diversity, [inaudible], anti-science, anti-change agent, anti-social justice, anti-healthcare, anti-worker, anti-LGBTQ+, anti-children, anti-healthcare, anti-worker, anti-environment, anti-admissions policy change, anti-inclusion, anti-live and let live – let them die!” she spouted, as parents reportedly gathered for a “Stop CRT rally” before a school board meeting that took place Thursday night.
The crowd listening to Leete loudly cheered and applauded in response to her violent rhetoric. “Don’t let these uncomfortable people deter us from our own march forward,” she asserted.
PTA member Asra Nomani, who helps lead Parents Defending Education, caught the whole thing on video. The incident took place at Luther Jackson Middle School in Falls Church, Virginia. “I listened, stunned, as Michelle Leete, an executive of the NAACP and the PTA, put a target on the backs of parents just because they have a different point of view,” Nomani told the Daily Wire.

“What we heard tonight was hate speech, pure and simple. It was shocking that anyone would cheer and applaud a call to violence… Ironically, her hateful, intolerant words are a perfect illustration of the divisive ideology of Critical Race Theory in action. In the name of tolerance, it preaches intolerance and is a betrayal of all values of humanity and decency,” Nomani said.
“While they deny it’s being taught, [National Education Association] doubles down,” a flyer for the event proclaimed. “It’s not about race or equity, it’s about a Communist Radical Takeover of America!”
According to Daily Wire, Leete “is Vice President of Training at the Virginia state PTA and Vice President of Communications for the Fairfax County PTA. She is also First Vice President of the Fairfax County NAACP and a federal employee.”
A candidate for state delegate in Virginia named Brenton Hammond was horrified by what he heard and remarked on Twitter, “I heard this tonight as it was spoken and I was in shock. Absolutely unacceptable, we must be a better example for young people and all people.”

“I was in shock looking at the crowd, watching Ms. Leete pander to white liberals with her hateful rhetoric,” Harry Jackson, president-elect of Thomas Jefferson High School’s parent-teacher association, told Daily Wire.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is refusing to comment on the incident. A representative did tell Fox News: “FCPS prides itself on being an inclusive and positive organization. It is not our place to comment on the remarks made by an individual outside our organization.”
The Virginia PTA attempted to do some damage control by tweeting a statement that expressed concern about “a disturbing choice of words used by a board member during a public event.”
They said, “that statement does not reflect the values of Virginia PTA.”

Leete didn’t back down in the least either in regards to Critical Race Theory opponents. She tweeted, “They disqualify themselves with their words and deeds.”
One commenter answered her by saying, “They stand for nothing. Work around them.” She responded, “Funny, I truly feel exactly the same about people who have no real platform or ideas other than to call everything CRT or Marxism and twist words to gin up faux outrage. Happy Friday to you though.”
Leete also claimed she was “[h]appy to contribute in any way I can to their red meat. Must be tiresome though trying to keep the faux CRT, Marxist, anti-whateva outrage.”
A number of states including North Carolina are now banning Critical Race Theory from being taught to students because of its racist and violent connotations.
Leete’s violent rhetoric shocked parents and others on Twitter:
It’s weird when everyone applauds at the suggestion that their political opponents should die.

“Anti ‘live and let live’ people”? It is the “live and let live people” who don’t want to be told what to believe and feel we are all smart enough to think for ourselves. Sounds like Leete is pointing three fingers back at herself right there.

“Let them die” sounds like a threat to me. She should have a restraining order and be kicked off school grounds.
— earthgal (@earthgal36) July 17, 2021
And they applauded and cheered.

That’s not very tolerant or inclusive.

Live and let live…unless they don’t agree with us. Then “let them die”. :45
As a teacher of history, this is absolutely abhorrent. It is borderline Hitler-esque. This is the type of rhetoric and demagoguery that poisons our student’s minds and hurts the free flow of ideas
— Darth Vengeance (@mrwilliamsworld) July 16, 2021
Wow! I’m a retired teacher and you want this type of rhetoric to be heard by your children. Need some anger management I think. “Agree with me or die!” Hmmmm

So hard to believe this is America any more.
— Thepmreview.com (@thepmreview) July 16, 2021
that’s a lot of “anti” haha
These people are so ideologically blind. It’s quite scary to think about where the progression will go next.

It makes me want to cry that a crowd of people just clapped as soon as she said “let them die.” I have no words for what we’ve become.
