Victor Davis Hanson makes compelling case for why leftists ‘have minds of children’, take AOC for instance

Hoover Institute senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show on Thursday night to discuss the Biden administration “recreating language.”

The renowned political commentator emphatically stated that liberals such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) basically “have the minds of children” and suffer from “prolonged adolescence.”

The “Tucker Carlson Tonight” segment began with a discussion concerning transgender people, gender, and personal pronouns. Carlson addressed the Federal Reserve issuing a memo on “biased-free language” which states that terms such as “Founding Fathers” and “manmade” should be eliminated.

Hanson then spoke about the massive debt the U.S. is facing, the economic downturn, looming inflation, and how it relates to the left’s attempt to remold society through trivial pursuits.

The scholar summarized the Federal Reserve’s liberally-based bureaucratic policies: “I think it’s characteristic of all bureaucracies that when they can’t solve an existential problem, they always go to the trivialities like they’ve done something.”

“Look at the Federal Reserve. We may have 6 to 7 percent inflation per annum when we have 2.8 mortgage rates. That’s a gap. And what are they doing? They’re looking at pronouns and the same thing is true of the O and B. We have a 30 trillion dollar debt and a trillion-dollar annual deficit. They don’t have a clue on how to handle that. But they do want to focus on these trivia,” he told Carlson.

Hanson continued: “And you know it’s also characteristic I think, Tucker, of the left… they always wanna be a cultural revolutionary, so they want to go back in the past and cancel people out and rename streets, and buildings, and universities, and topple statues and change the language. That’s what the Soviet Union did.”

He also pontificated on the “psycho-dramas” promoted by the left.

The respected political pundit added: “These words were here for a reason. They’re specific. I think it’s very important for people to realize that while the Founding Fathers… their achievement was not because they were male, but they transcended themselves. They weren’t just chauvinists or racists. They created ideas out of the enlightenment that meant that you would have women’s suffrage or you would have civil rights because that was the logic of all men created equal. They didn’t have to do that. There’s nothing in the Constitution that mentions race or gender.”

Hanson contended that he didn’t want Orwellian language to rule the day and create a “collective blah” which is what the left is allegedly trying to do.

“Do you find it interesting that they are so offended by fertility and nature and the idea that people reproduce and that’s okay, you know, that we… men and women come together and create new life? Like the whole thing is repulsive to them. Why is that?” Carlson asked.

Hanson proceeded to note that people are waiting longer to get married, have children, and buy homes than previous generations have. He contended that it all started with the feminist movement and then tackled the mindset of the left and demographics.

“Our crisis right now is we’re not reproducing ourselves… And we’re suffering from what? Prolonged adolescence. These children – they have adult bodies but they have the minds of children. They don’t want to grow up. AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)] is a good example of a person who’s suffering from prolonged adolescence. And she said she doesn’t want to have children because of climate change. I don’t know if it’s because of $1.7 trillion in student debt or the economy, but they just don’t want to take off their training wheels and go out to experience life and its adventures and dangers.”

Carlson noted that was a shame and intimated that they were missing out on what life is all about.

In 2019, Ocasio-Cortez stated that she had concerns about bringing children into the world because of climate change: “Basically, there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult,” she said at the time. “And it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question: Is it okay to still have children?”
