Fox News host Tucker Carlson began his Thursday night program citing statistics from Israel that show increasing numbers of young people, and men in particular, are contracting a rare and sometimes fatal heart condition after they received a COVID-19 vaccine.
Noting that in January, the Jewish state became the first to begin vaccinating young people so in-person education could begin sooner, Carlson said Israeli health officials have since discovered many “were developing a potentially fatal complication — a heart inflammation called myocarditis — and they were developing it at extremely high rates.”
“Researchers determined that the incidence of myocarditis in vaccinated young men was fully 25 times the usual rate. Some of them died,” said the host, adding that a Canadian researcher, Dr. Peter Liu, has documented the same phenomenon.
“Liu began to notice heart inflammation in patients who’d received the vaccine. ‘It is more than coincidental,’ he said,” the host noted.

German researchers have also documented the cardiac-COVID connection in younger people, said Carlson.
“This is a serious development for us in the United States,” Carlson declared. “If statistical trends observed in Israel hold here, as many as 150,000 young Americans will develop a potentially fatal heart disorder because of the COVID vaccine.
“That’s not alarmism, it’s not some kind of anti-vaxxer conspiracy theory. It’s real. Just this afternoon, the CDC confirmed what appear to be dangerous side effects,” he added.
“We clearly have an imbalance there,” Carlson quoted the official as saying.
“Given these numbers, it’s possible that healthy young people in this country will much more likely be harmed by the vaccine than by COVID itself. That would be a disaster. In fact, it would be the definition of a preventable disaster,” he added.
The problem, however, is that a growing number of venues and institutions — colleges and universities, in particular — are requiring students to prove they have been vaccinated before being able to return to in-person classes this fall. At the same time, Carlson said, on many of those same campuses, professors and staff are not under the same vaccine requirement.
“There are close to 20 million college students in this country. In the end, most will have no choice but to take a drug that other governments have concluded is dangerous for them to take,” he said.
Carlson cited a proclamation by Virginia’s state university system which said that students “will not be granted” any vaccine exemptions “based on a philosophical, moral, or conscientious objection.”
“In other words, your conscience is irrelevant. Personal autonomy means nothing. It is no longer your body, it is no longer your choice. When it comes to this vaccine, there is no escape,” said the host.
“You wonder, watching this, how it could happen in a free country. It’s hard to believe it is happening. As a medical decision, it’s reckless. What are the long-term effects of forcing these drugs on millions of young people, many of whom don’t need it?” he continued. “We don’t know the answer. We don’t know what the long-term effects are. Anyone who claims to know is lying. At this point, there’s literally no way to tell.”
Carlson said that earlier in the day the Food and Drug Administration’s advisory board met to discuss the COVID-cardiac issue, with a Tufts Medical School professor concluding “before we start vaccinating millions of adolescents and children, it is so important to find out what the consequences are.”
He then played a video clip of President Joe Biden claiming that all COVID-19 vaccines are “safe” and thus, all Americans should get one.
“If the numbers out of Israel turn out to be real and applicable to this country, our population, the clip you just saw will live forever as one of the most destructive things a sitting president has ever said from a podium. Maybe the worst part is, the administration should have known this could be coming,” said the host.
He cited Pfizer’s clinical trials involving a group of kids aged 12-15, some of whom got the vaccine while others were part of a placebo control group. Of those who were vaccinated with at least one dose, “rates of serious symptoms were higher across the board, including symptoms consistent with myocarditis,” said Carlson.
Despite the findings, however, Carlson said the FDA last week approved COVID vaccines for kids in that age group, and that the age “threshold” may go down from there.
Carlson then played another clip, this one of the Biden administration’s COVID adviser, Ezekiel Emanuel, in which he says that all health care workers and college students should be vaccinated while suggesting that business owners ought to require their employees to get vaccinated as well. He then referenced hospital workers in Houston who were recently suspended for refusing to take the now-mandated vaccine because they don’t know the long-term effects of the shot and are concerned about their safety.
“The most basic questions of civil liberties are in the balance here, and at some point, they’ll be resolved. At some point, the courts will decide whether it’s legal under American law to force adults to take medicine they don’t want,” Carlson said as he prepared to wrap up his monologue.
“But for millions of college students, time is running out, they don’t have the luxury of waiting for a court decision. Because in just weeks, they’ll have to show their vaccine passports, or they’ll be barred from school. What should they do? How should their parents respond?” he asked.
