Vice President Kamala Harris is allegedly keeping an enemies list of journalists who displease her and who “don’t fully understand her or appreciate her life experience” according to a newly released profile.
Monday, a reporter with The Atlantic claimed that the vice president keeps records of reporters she doesn’t like or approve of. She also allegedly tracks political types that she considers racist.
“The vice president and her team tend to dismiss reporters. Trying to get her to take a few questions after events is treated as an act of impish aggression,” wrote The Atlantic’s Edward-Isaac Dovere. “And Harris herself tracks political players and reporters whom she thinks don’t fully understand her or appreciate her life experience.”
Harris’ critics including former President Donald Trump have previously noted that she inappropriately laughs when responding to tough questions by journalists: “The only thing almost as bad [as Joe Biden] is Kamala with the laugh,” Trump declared at an October rally during the 2020 presidential campaign.
“Haha, that’s so funny. Hahaha,” Trump proclaimed while imitating her laughter in an interview with 60 Minutes. “Is there something wrong with her?” he asked. “She kept laughing. At very serious questions.”

She also reportedly takes issue with the descriptive term “ambitious.” The Atlantic stated that “journalists and other libs were sounding the alarm about the word ‘ambitious'” during the 2020 presidential campaign. Some aides to then-candidate Joe Biden believed Harris was too ambitious for a running mate, and the future president did not want to be overshadowed.
Harris’ list apparently includes people at Vogue magazine. The reason why is unclear, but liberals were enraged at a February cover of the magazine featuring Harris.

In 2019, reporter Chelsea Janes, who works for The Washington Post, went to a Harris campaign event. Harris’ sorority reportedly greeted their sister with their trademark cheer which Janes described as “screeching.”
According to Dovere: “She often mentions an episode in which a Washington Post reporter mistook the cheer of the historic Black sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha for ‘screeches,’ I was told.”
“She particularly doesn’t like the word cautious, and aides look out for synonyms too. Careful, guarded, and hesitant don’t go over well,” he noted. “But she continues to retreat behind talking points and platitudes in public, and declines many interview requests and opportunities to speak for herself (including for this article).”
“At times, she comes off as so uninteresting that television producers have started to wonder whether spending thousands of dollars to send people on trips with her is worthwhile, given how little usable material they get out of it,” Dovers remarked.
Harris has a reputation for avoiding the media and gives the appearance of being standoffish.
Her team seems to be on the defense constantly. Last September, they had to field a story that she had not taken any questions from the press since she was named a month earlier as Biden’s vice-presidential pick. She did speak with local media and some online outlets such as The Grio and The 19th mostly on women’s and black issues. The vice president has almost totally ignored the press over questions concerning the border.
Harris allegedly stands out from former Vice President Mike Pence in that she refuses to chat and mingle with reporters while flying with them on Air Force Two. She’s allegedly not exactly gregarious or warm when it comes to the press. When she flies on Air Force Two, she reportedly closes the door to her office and does not work the plane with the press as her predecessors did.
According to the magazine, her friends also find her aloof. When Harris received her new cellphone after taking office, her old friends found it difficult to reach her. “They often can’t get through,” the magazine noted.
On Twitter, Harris’ alleged enemies list got noticed by a lot of people. One person compared her to Richard Nixon, who notoriously kept lists of his enemies. Another commented: “She ‘tracks’ reporters? Seems… interesting, to say the least.”
