Hunter Biden’s bagel run makes news – coverage of ‘big scoop’ floods social

The House Judiciary GOP Twitter account mocked so-called journalists from the mainstream media who couldn’t wait to report on Hunter Biden’s bagel run after attending church service with his father, the president. The presidential motorcade waited for his order to be completed, blocking traffic and causing a scene. Your tax dollars at work.

Matt Viser, the White House reporter for the Washington Post, sent a pearl of a tweet reporting on the presidential motorcade as it was on its way back from church and was then “diverted” so Hunter Biden “could make a food run at Call Your Mother, arguably the best bagel shop in DC.”

The tweet stated that Hunter stood at the establishment’s window for “several minutes for the takeout order as his dad and daughters waited in the car.” Many saw this risky and unusual for the presidential motorcade and as a security risk.

The House Judiciary GOP saw an opportunity and pounced on the tweet, snarking: “This is the most coverage Hunter Biden has ever received by the mainstream media. What a joke.” The slam was allegedly in reference to the lack of coverage over Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal and his Chinese business connections.

The deli called the president’s visit a “GREAT Sunday Surprise” on Twitter and shared that it is “thrilled to have an admin again who will love all that DC has to offer,” appearing to jab former President Trump, who rarely, if ever, patronized local Washington, D.C., restaurants. They also confirmed that the first family ordered sesame bagels and cream cheese which the media breathlessly reported on.

The after-church bagel run comes amidst Hunter being under federal investigation by the Justice Department related to his finances. In December, he acknowledged the probe but maintained he handled his affairs “legally.”

The scandal came to the forefront during Joe Biden’s run for the presidency in 2020, after emails reported to have been from Hunter’s laptop revealed conversations related to business with a Chinese-owned company. That laptop was left at a computer repair shop and later turned over to authorities by the owner.

The media and Big Tech squelched the story during Biden’s run and never dug into or reported on Hunter’s business dealings which allegedly implicate his father as well.

A spokesperson for Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Fox News that it is “very likely” that the Hunter Biden probe will be addressed at the Judge Merrick Garland hearing for attorney general. But since his father is now President of the United States, the chances of the case being fully pursued are now seen as slim at best.

President Biden was spotted leaving Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood on Sunday, following his first attendance at Mass since taking office. He was joined by Vice President Harris and a group of bipartisan lawmakers, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and incoming Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY), among others.

He was also accompanied by his son and two of his grandchildren, Finnegan and Maisy. The president, in a brief exchange with reporters, said the service was “lovely.” Reporters were all over that story.

Biden entered through the front of the church, where a Black Lives Matter banner was hanging on one side. A banner with a quote from Pope Francis was on the other side of it: “We cannot tolerate or turn a blind eye to racism and exclusion in any form and yet claim to defend the sacredness of every human life,” it read.

Biden is America’s second Catholic president. However, he is at odds with many over his faith due to his stance on abortion. President John F. Kennedy, who was Catholic as well, attended the very same church.
