Dems move forward on plan to censure Mo Brooks and Louie Gohmert for challenging election fraud

It would appear that Democrats are preparing to file a resolution to censure Rep. Mo Brooks (R-TX) and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) in the next few days, for challenging the 2020 presidential election. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is also a target of the alleged move. No firm details are out there but Chad Pergram of Fox News has tweeted that is what he is hearing.

This development comes as Democrats are seeking to impeach President Trump yet again. There may be a twist on that this time, as the Dems may hold the impeachment proceedings until after the first one-hundred days of the Biden presidency so they do not distract from his actions. The aim of the impeachment is allegedly to ensure Trump cannot run for the presidency again. The aim of censuring Republicans who questioned voter fraud is to discredit them as political leaders.

It is also being said that the Democrats are going all-out to pin the riot on Capitol Hill on Republican lawmakers, who were forced to take shelter during the chaos, just as Democrats were.

Along with censorship of Republicans by Big Tech and purges on social media, the Democrats are seeking to punish anyone who supported President Trump. Where have I heard this story before?

Pergram tweeted out Sunday evening:

“1) Senior Democratic lawmakers tell Fox to expect a censure resolution in the House in the coming days for Reps. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and Mo Brooks (R-AL). Fox is told there could also be consequences for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).”

“2) No resolution of prospective discipline has yet been shared with Fox. Nor is Fox aware of what the specific grievances would be if the House were to consider sanctions for these members.”

“The House has three formal modes of discipline: reprimand, censure, and expulsion.”

“3) The House has only censured 23 members in its history. The last was former Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) in 2010. Expulsion requires a two-thirds vote. The House has only expelled five members in history. But censure and reprimand require a simple majority.”

Expulsion is highly unlikely, so the Democrats are moving for censure here. Several Democrats are leveling charges of insurrection against Republicans and that will almost assuredly play into this move.

Democrats on social media also jumped on the bandwagon. One tweeted: “Well…they were aiding and abetting domestic Nazi Terrorists trying to overthrow the govt. Personally, I think charges for treason are more in order but that’s just me.” Many Democrats have espoused the same sentiment.

Other Republicans are being attacked as well. Arizona Reps. Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs are being accused of all kinds of baseless things. The Democrats want Senators Ted Cruz and  Josh Hawley removed from their seats as well. And the list goes on and on in Congress as the Democrats look to take down as many of Trump’s supporters as they can.

And the rhetoric is heating up over President Trump. On Saturday, U.S. House Democratic chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) stated his plans to remove President Trump from office, saying the occupant of the White House is guilty of inciting sedition.

Calling President Trump “treasonous” and “a clear and present danger,” Jeffries took a photo-op on the steps of New York City Hall.

“Donald Trump must be removed from office immediately, he should be impeached, convicted and thrown out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and forever banished to the dustbin of history,” said Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, chair of the House Democratic Caucus.

Jeffries said, “On Monday, a privileged resolution will be introduced that will charge the President of the United States with inciting sedition.”

“He should resign immediately. He is a clear threat to our democracy,” Rep. Carolyn Maloney, chair of the House Oversight Committee, said in support of Jeffries.

Brooks, Gohmert, and other Republicans exercised their constitutional duty over the election. Instead, they are being accused of heinous and high crimes under the guise of labeling their actions as incitement. This move to censure is a move to censor and divide America.
