‘Take several seats and shut up you lying, two-faced hypocrites!’ Editor torches BLM apologists upset with Capitol riot

The Media Research Center’s managing editor leveled a blistering takedown of the “lying, two-faced hypocrites” who have condemned only rioters they disagree with.

MRCTV’s Brittany Hughes, host of the web series “Reality Check,” unloaded on the left for their reaction to the chaos that erupted in the nation’s capital this week. Hughes minced no words in her scorching seven-minute take on the hypocrisy and double standards in leftist reactions to the violence.

Hughes made it more than clear that, like most of the more than 70 million people who voted for President Donald Trump, there is no excuse for violence and rioting. But, as she recounted how protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol Wednesday, wreaking havoc and destruction which left one woman dead, Hughes exposed “left-wing mouthpieces and liberal politicians” for condemning the violence.

They came out in droves, she said, “to denounce violence and pretend that they didn’t spend the last – oh, I don’t know, decade – encouraging Black Lives Matter or Antifa to beat people senseless and set fire to the country.”

“If you turned a blind eye to the insanity, the violence and the bloodshed that ripped apart our nation for months last year because it was your preferred group of victims calling it justice, you don’t get to say jack all about anything that happened yesterday,” Hughes said.

“So take several seats and shut up you lying, two-faced hypocrites!” she added.

She reiterated that the violent breach of the Capitol building was simply “wrong” and that “attacking police officers, vandalizing public property and threatening innocent people” is also wrong.

“I don’t care what T-shirt you’re wearing, whose logo is on it or what reasons you think you have,” she added, noting that she had no need to defend her own record as could be seen on Twitter where, she explained, she “pissed off a lot of people, lost a lot of followers and not a wink of sleep.”

Hughes recounted the months of violent rioting and protests across America’s cities following the death of George Floyd, and how businesses were looted, burned and destroyed because of so-called systemic racism and police brutality.

“We were told again and again and again by the liberal news media and Democrat politicians and left-wing talking heads that all of that was perfectly acceptable, because it was in the name of justice,” Hughes said.

“Now these same demagogues who stumped for the communist thugs burning down our cities are clutching their pearls and grabbing for their smelling salts because the other side finally got pissed off enough to start throwing punches,” she continued.

Hughes argued that she would not ignore the double standard because “it is a huge part of what got us here.”

Her blistering reality check continued with multiple examples of the liberal response – or lack thereof –  to last year’s violence. Hughes blasted the “self-appointed moral arbiters” of the liberal media who have “suddenly decided that violence is bad.”

“The protest and anger is wrong because, what, now it threatens you?” she asked, calling out Sen. Chuck Schumer for referring to Trump supporters as “thugs.”

“You can’t say it when liberals are destroying cities and assaulting citizens and ransacking Target because it’s ‘racist.’ Those are just disenfranchised victims expressing their frustration with the system,” Hughes continued. “But Trump supporters lose their crap on the Capitol steps and suddenly we’re back to law and order, and being peaceful.”

“You don’t get to have it both ways, you hypocritical, two-faced, disingenuous sacks of garbage!” Hughes exclaimed.

“You don’t get to sit here now, like you have some kind of high grind because you just dug out the moral compass out of your junk drawer yesterday, before rushing into your studio to blast people who you don’t like because they finally started swinging back,” she continued. “You celebrated violence for years.”

Hughes wrapped up her message reiterating that the mob that broke into the Capitol committed crimes and should face consequences. In the same way, she argued, BLM and Antifa members should also be held accountable.

“The difference is that the right has called out both, by name and without hesitation. But the left will never, ever hold their own accountable,” she concluded. “And that is why a huge part of 74 million people are so pissed off!”
