President Donald Trump addressed crowds that gathered in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday to protest the counting of Electoral College ballots which are expected to show that Democrat Joe Biden won the 2020 election.

Trump promoted the gathering for days as he spoke out against the results of the election and as his campaign continued to file legal actions in several battleground states challenging results.

In addition to claims of outright vote fraud, the campaign has maintained that changes to voting rules and procedures ahead of the Nov. 3 election were unconstitutionally made by state officials instead of GOP-controlled state legislatures.

Trump has also been urging Vice President Mike Pence to either count competing sets of electors sent by those states or to simply not count their electors for Biden.

“States want to correct their votes, which they now know were based on irregularities and fraud, plus corrupt process never received legislative approval,” Trump wrote. “All Mike Pence has to do is send them back to the States, AND WE WIN. Do it Mike, this is a time for extreme courage!”

Trump’s address comes as both Republican incumbents in Georgia appear on the verge of somehow losing their races. Most media outlets have already called the race between Sen. Kelly Loeffler and her Democratic rival Raphael Warnock for the challenger, and many experts believe that Sen. David Perdue is on the verge of losing to Democrat Jon Ossoff.

In November, Warnock received 32.9 percent of the vote to Loeffler’s 25.9 percent, but she was also challenged by GOP Rep. Doug Collins who received 20 percent.

Meanwhile, Perdue beat Ossoff outright 49.7 percent to 47.9 percent but failed to achieve the 50 percent threshold needed to avoid a run-off under Georgia law.
