Adult film star Cherie DeVille said part of her is “terrified” about Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., becoming vice president, and while her reasons may differ, the porn star can rest assured that there are millions of Americans who share this disposition.

In an op-ed seemingly designed to promote her industry, DeVille cited “a lifetime of animosity toward sex workers” from Harris as a major concern.

Make no mistake, DeVille is not politically conservative, but her criticism of Harris goes back to her early rise in politics — which has been linked to an affair she had as a young, ambitious deputy district attorney with then 60-year-old San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.

“I respect Harris for seeing gays and women of color through a compassionate lens,” DeVille wrote in a Daily Beast op-ed. “After four years of Vice President Mike Pence, it’ll be nice to see someone make the executive branch empathetic again. Still, I doubt Harris’s executive empathy will extend to exotic dancers, porn stars, strippers, prostitutes, or erotic masseuses.”

To be clear, the veteran adult film star stressed that Harris takes her opposition to another level.

“It’s hard to stand out as a sex working-hate politician. Most politicians hate porn stars, so I struggle to keep track of all the senators, district attorneys, and other elected hacks who rail against the performers in the pornos they watch,” she said. “But Harris is so against sex work that she came on porn stars’ radar years ago. We have been raising the alarm about Harris since her days as a San Francisco District Attorney. Our sirens are growing louder as inauguration day nears because we need public support to prevent Harris from pushing against sex work in the Oval Office.”

DeVille noted that Harris opposed a San Francisco ballot initiative that would have legalized prostitution and tried to prosecute those behind a classified ad website.

“In the name of protecting women,” she wrote, “Harris has pushed sex workers back onto dangerous street corners.”

With credit card companies denying their services to online porn sites out of concern for illegal content, Deville called these companies their “biggest adversaries,” pointing out that they backed Biden’s White House bid financially.

“Few Americans realize Visa and Mastercard dictate what porn they want,” Deville claimed. “For instance, I refer to myself in precise language when I market my legal adult videos because the credit card companies enforce strict rules. Even though I only produce legal videos up to code, credit card companies decide their regulations.”

She ripped Big Tech in the editorial for censoring legal content, namely Facebook — a complaint many on the right share.

“It’s disheartening because Facebook is worse than cable companies,” DeVille said. “They control what we see, and they’re a monopoly. That’s frightening. Nobody knows this better than the sex workers that Facebook censors.”

“Sex workers support the Department of Justice’s attempt to break up Facebook, but considering Harris and Biden’s ties to Facebook, I worry they will stop the break-up,” she added.

Coming from DeVille, the corrupt media establishment can’t dismiss these “ties” as a rightwing conspiracy.
