U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw slammed the “infuriating, corrupt, and disgusting” double standards of the mainstream media in essentially ignoring the controversy involving Rep. Eric Swalwell.
The Texas Republican exposed the larger problem in the Democratic Party as he called out the media’s hypocrisy and lack of interest in the story of Swalwell’s entanglement with a suspected Chinese spy. Despite the reports and calls for the California Democrat to be removed from the House Intelligence Committee, the complicit media continues to hold water for the congressman and others in the party who attempts to sweep the scandal under the rug.
“Conservatives are frustrated. Joe Biden did his whole campaign from the basement. Then a lot of people believe this election was rigged, the president believes that and a lot of Republicans who voted for him believe that as well,” Fox News co-host Ainsley Earhardt said on Fox & Friends on Monday.
“Then when you watch the mainstream media, you don’t even hear about stories – the negative stories – where are the negative stories on Hunter Biden or just questioning him, even talking about it?” she continued. “Same with Eric Swalwell with the Chinese spy.”

“It’s infuriating,” Crenshaw agreed, noting how not reporting on the allegations ultimately plays out in voter response.
“That act in itself is affecting the election and they know it. The double standard of the mainstream media is one of the largest challenges of our times. Everybody knows it,” the GOP lawmaker added. “It’s infuriating, it’s corrupt, it’s disgusting, and it’s got to stop.”
“Questions have to be answered there, but the left-wing media has no interest in asking them, and the Democrats have no interest in asking them,” Crenshaw said.
The Navy SEAL veteran emphasized the need to know the facts but reiterated again how Democrats have dismissed the claims.
“We need to know what kind of information made it from the Intel. Committee, to Swalwell’s office, to Fang Fang,” he said, referring to the suspected spy, Christine Fang, who targeted local politicians including Swalwell and at least two Midwestern mayors.
Swalwell reportedly cut ties with Fang after federal investigators alerted him about concerns in a defensive briefing in 2015. But Democrats have shielded the lawmaker, ignoring concerns about his ability to serve on the Intelligence Committee, which handles classified material.
Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, calling for Swalwell to be removed from the committee. Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill insisted in a statement to Fox News that the Democrat leader has “full confidence” in Swalwell despite the investigative reporting that uncovered the connection.
“They don’t even seem to care,” Crenshaw said of Democrats during his Fox News appearance.
“This is a microcosm of a much larger problem [in] the Democrat Party, which is they don’t even seem to care about China as a whole when it comes to viewing them as a threat, to viewing them as a foreign policy challenge,” he added.
“Biden didn’t even try to campaign on this when asked about it. He dismissed it and said oh, come on, China isn’t going to eat our lunch, man,” Crenshaw said.
“His first goal, apparently, is to get back into the Paris climate accord, which only has one beneficiary: China,” he added, noting that Democrats are using a 20-year-old “foreign policy consensus” which hoped China would become a “benevolent” world power.
“Well, that’s not the case and we cannot take foreign policy actions that do not put America first,” Crenshaw argued. “It has to be our priority. Our own people.”
