Mainstream media outlets were “actively suppressing” the Hunter Biden story for months in order to get his father elected, according to New York Post columnist Miranda Devine.
Reports on the contents of the younger Biden’s laptop were “actively suppressed” by the media, Devine told Fox News on Friday, explaining how it was a “ruse” to get their presidential candidate over the finish line in November’s election.
The liberal media has come under fire in recent days after Hunter Biden acknowledged on Wednesday that he is under federal investigation over his “tax affairs” and that the grand jury probe through the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware has been going on since 2018. U.S. Senate committees also released a damning and lengthy report exposing the Biden family’s ties to Ukraine and China.
News outlets dismissed the “conspiracy theories” and refused to cover the New York Post’s October report on Hunter Biden’s laptop and the findings about his foreign business dealings.

“The New York Post story broke on October 14, which is more than two weeks before the election,” Devine said on “Fox & Friends” Friday. “It should have been covered, and instead it was actively suppressed. It was ignored.”
“There was a lot of new stuff in when we published from Hunter Biden’s laptop and that included for the very first time evidence that then-Vice President Joe Biden knew about what was going on with his family’s influence-peddling schemes around the world and was actively involved,” Devine continued.
“You had not just active suppression, but you had Big Tech locking our Twitter account, throttling the story on Facebook. And then you had 50 intelligence operatives signing a letter … ‘Oh, this looks very much like a Russian disinformation operation,’ and that of course was the green light to all those media outfits like CNN and Washington Post and NPR and so on to pretend that our story was Russian disinformation, that we effectively at the New York Post were acting as Russian agents,” Devine recounted.
“It was all a ruse to get their man over the line in the election, to get Joe Biden across the line with zero scrutiny into what really is a fishy story, and now, of course, they’re reporting it because they think that they’ve won,” she told Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt.
In an op-ed published by the New York Post earlier this week, Devine accused the Biden family of putting American national security at risk.
“Barring a miracle, Biden will be sworn in as president next month, and all the skeletons jumping around in his closet have grave implications for America’s national security,” she wrote. “When it comes to the Biden family’s business associations with Communist Party entities in China, it doesn’t get any more serious.”
Conservative commentator and columnist Ben Shapiro also blasted the mainstream media over their intentional failure to cover reports about Hunter Biden. Shapiro lit into journalists and social media giants that effectively rigged the 2020 presidential election by dismissing controversial findings.

“So, here’s the thing about members of the media now screaming about the undermining of democracy,” Shapiro wrote on Twitter. “F*** right off. Your job was to bring relevant information to the American public. You ignored it, because you are largely Democratic mouthpieces.”
