Reporters reacted angrily after the first White House COVID task force briefing in months ended without members taking questions Thursday afternoon.
The briefing came on the heels of a press conference by Trump campaign lawyers Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Joe diGenova and others, in which they made stunning claims of vote manipulation and fraud via electronic manipulation and other means, in several battleground states.
It also comes as cases of the virus spike in many regions of the country.
During the briefing, Fauci encouraged Americans to continue wearing masks and socially distance ahead of a vaccine that should be available within weeks.
“We will get through this. And we will get through this together,” Pence said as he ended the more than hour-long briefing, leaving the press room with the task force.

Based on some of the reactions, it seems likely at least some reporters wanted to ask about the allegations the campaign’s legal team made, but the coronavirus task force members including Vice President Mike Pence and Drs. Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci did not give them the opportunity.
“Are you really not going to take questions?” shouted one reporter.
“What is going on?” another exclaimed.
“All of you need to answer this!” shouted another. “You’re all part of not recognizing democracy! You’re all undermining the democratic elections! Every one of you. You won’t work with the [Biden] transition!”
The ‘undermining democracy’ reference from members of the establishment media rang hollow with several observers and pundits who contrasted reporters’ reactions to the Trump campaign’s allegations versus the press’s claims, for years and without evidence, that the president’s 2016 election victory was tainted by Russian interference.
“They never once quibbled over the four years they helped to undermine a previous election. I guess they’re letting it all out now,” Fox News host Greg Gutfeld wrote on Twitter.

Another user mocked the press’s reaction by mentioning the 2000 election, in which Al Gore narrowly lost to George W. Bush after weeks of legal challenges.
“Remember that time Al Gore contested an election and the MSM screamed that he was undermining democracy?” the user wrote.

New York Post writer Miranda Devine mocked the media for their obvious preference for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, whom they have declared “president-elect.”
“Are these the same reporters who coo and purr at Joe Biden on the very rare occasions he deigns to have a mini-press conference?” Devine asked on Twitter.

While most media outlets continue to claim there is no evidence of widespread vote fraud, the Trump campaign’s legal team members said during their press conference they have a number of affidavits, sworn under oath, attesting to how machines were manipulated and “pristine” ballots were added to vote tallies in favor of Biden.
Powell talked of “one very strong witness” who was with the late Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez when he paid to have the software developed so he would never lose an election. Powell said the witness explained how the technology works in a “stunning, detailed affidavit.”
“That was the expressed purpose for creating this software. He has seen it operate. And as soon as he saw the multiple states shut down the voting on the night of the election, he knew the same thing was happening here,” Powell said.
“One of [the software’s] most characteristic features is its ability to flip votes,” Powell said. “It can set and run an algorithm that probably ran all over the country to take a certain percentage of votes from President Trump and flip them to [Biden].”
