Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden came under fire for his choice of words about President Trump at a Florida rally.
The former vice president has claimed to be more civil and a better person than Trump but, while the president was in the hospital being treated for COVID-19, Biden told his supporters that it would be great if he was delivered a “death blow” on Election Day.
Biden’s remarks came after he insisted that he would not be attacking the president while he’s in the hospital, with his campaign even promising to pull negative advertising. But during a campaign stop in Florida this weekend, Biden chose a phrase that soon earned him a resounding rebuke.
“Think about this,” he told a small crowd of supporters while Trump was in Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland being treated for the deadly coronavirus.
“Wouldn’t it be an irony, the irony of all ironies, if on election eve it turned out Haitians delivered the coup de grâce in this election?” Biden asked, using the term defined as a “death blow” by Merriam-Webster’s dictionary.

No telling if Biden even grasped what he was saying at the time but many were appalled by the remark and its timing. On Friday, Biden had wished Trump and first lady Melania Trump a “swift recovery” as their positive coronavirus diagnosis was revealed.
The president was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda where he remained until Monday evening when he was discharged back to the White House. Biden’s campaign announced that any negative ads would temporarily be suspended, though that did not appear to be a promise kept.
“Vice President Biden and our entire campaign are praying for President Trump and the First Lady to make a full recovery as soon as possible,” Biden campaign national press secretary T.J. Ducklo told Fox News. “We think it’s inappropriate to use the president’s illness to score political points on our opponent, which is why we unilaterally took down our negative ads.”
But the Trump campaign’s rapid response director begged to differ.
“Despite pledging to stop his negative advertising, nearly 100 negative Biden ads slandering the president and lying about his record have aired today while the president is at Walter Reed,” Andrew Clark told Fox News on Saturday. “Meanwhile, Joe Biden has continued to attack the president in his speeches.”

Multiple ads continued to air, including one attacking the president’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic which said it’s “unforgivable” that Trump “failed to protect America.” Biden’s campaign claimed that it can take some time to stop the ads from playing in the rotation.
“The Biden campaign tried to trick reporters into thinking they’re the ‘good guys’ and score some good headlines and tweets while doing nothing to tone down their viciousness,” Clark said. “They lied to the media and got caught.”
Meanwhile, Biden’s appeal to Haitian-Americans was slammed on social media where GOP Rapid Response Director Steve Guest demanded he “must apologize” and the Federalist’s Sean Davis called out the comment as simply “disgusting.”
“If a Republican made a comment like this, there would be wall-to-wall coverage,” Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, tweeted.
“You reap what you sow, Joe. Beware,” actor James Woods wrote on Twitter.
Joe Biden is complaining about how “mean and ugly” politics has become.
At the debate, he called President Trump a “clown” and told him to “shut up.”
Earlier today, Biden talked about the President being dealt a death blow before he had even left Walter Reed.

I assume he means by voting. The United States is taking an incredible risk with such a poor communicator.

Now for a minute imagine if POTUS said this about Joe! Bidens partners in the MSM would literally be frothing at the mouth with outrage, but since they’re on Team Joe, my guess is we’ll be hearing crickets!!
