The biased mainstream media never misses a chance to attack President Trump and his administration, even in the face of the troubling news that the president and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus.

ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl, the current president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, took to Twitter to effectively accuse White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany of exposing the press corps to COVID-19.

Never mind that McEnany is well over six feet away from the journalists in the room, all of whom are wearing masks — this being an assessment that assumes the worst, which is that the president’s spokesperson knew she’d been exposed to the virus and recklessly went into the briefing room anyway.

“We now know Hicks had symptoms on Wednesday night and tested positive yesterday morning,” Karl tweeted. “We also know she had been with @PressSec. My question for @PressSec: What did you know, when went into a room full of reporters for your briefing yesterday at 11:20am?”

Of course, McEnany did not act in such a careless manner as the ABC News reporter implied.

About an hour later, Karl followed up on his tweet to say McEnany “tells me she did NOT know Hope Hicks had tested positive until after her briefing yesterday.”

No apologies were offered, nor did he delete the original tweet questioning her actions.

Instead, the reporter shifted to attacking White House protocol in regard to contact tracing, citing Chris Christie not being contacted by anyone, even though he was at a debate prep meeting with Trump.

So, in addition to the crazy rumors pushed by MSNBC host Joy Reid that President Trump is lying about getting the virus for political purposes — like getting out of the next debate — conspiracists on the left are implying the White House intentionally tried to inflict reporters with the disease.

Needless to say, Karl’s actions didn’t go over too well with social media users, who have seen this movie once too often.

Here’s a sampling of responses to the story from Twitter: (** Language warning)
