If ever there was a correlation between anti-police sentiment in America and rabid opposition to President Donald Trump, it played out Monday in Sacramento, Calif.

The president was in town to meet with Gov. Gavin Newsom in response to wildfires ravaging the state — many of them intentionally set, according to reports. Anti-Trump protesters were on hand at McClellan Airport, where the meeting took place, and at one point surrounded a California Highway Patrol cruiser.

What happened next proves you can’t fix stupid, even though there are some sure to fault the police.

The CHP cruiser tried to get through the mob, and an anti-Trump protester jumped onto the hood of the vehicle. The fool scampered onto the roof as others in the crowd began attacking the cruiser — which proved to be an unwise move, as the trooper hit the accelerator.

Needless to say, the protester was quickly thrown off the vehicle. Another person wearing a “Trump sucks” T-shirt is also seen falling to the ground.

Breitbart New’s Brandon Darby tweeted a video capturing the incident from another angle, while sharing what proved to be a popular sentiment: “I really don’t think the cop did anything wrong here.”

Here another angle of the incident, capturing protesters in the roadway antagonizing motorists.

Note that the lawless mob is chanting, “You can’t stop revolution!”

As noted by another social media user, who shared yet another angle, the guy who jumped on the police cruiser won “the stupid prize.”

Other videos shared by the social media user showed the protesters, some of whom carried Black Lives Matter signs, attacking private vehicles as they try to navigate an intersection.

Appropriately, she asked: “What is wrong with these people?”

Protesters are seen in one video in the roadway attacking vehicles as they drove by.

In a fitting display that comes as no surprise, one of the protesters is seen holding a Biden-Harris sign.

The Sacramento Bee reported that the person who crawled on top of the CHP cruiser was taken away by an ambulance.

CHP spokesman Officer A.J. McTaggart told the paper the incident is under review.

McTaggart explained that two CHP officers were conducting traffic control near the intersection and tried to leave the area.

“As the lead vehicle began to pull away, one of the protesters climbed up the hood of the patrol vehicle,” he said in an emailed statement. “Fearing for his safety, the officer began to accelerate away and the protester fell off the vehicle.”

A slow-motion clip shared online showed that the CHP trooper came to a full stop after the initial surge, to give the unruly mob every chance to step aside:
