U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan slammed how Gen. Michael Flynn was “systematically targeted” following a report that his case will be reheard by a Washington, D.C. federal appeals court.
The Ohio Republican told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo that the setting up of the former national security adviser “goes all the way to the top” of the Obama administration.

Jordan expressed his frustration and what “ticks” him off about the case as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit has refused to let the matter go, rejecting a motion filed by the Department of Justice to dismiss the case and have the charges against Flynn be withdrawn.
“It’s so wrong, and it has been so long for General Flynn, what they’ve done to this individual, when they systematically targeted him after the election in November 2016, because they knew that the cover-up that they were planning to hide what they tried to do to the Trump campaign, they Knew Michael Flynn would figure it out,” Jordan said.
“This needs to end, this terrible saga that he and his family have had to go through, it needs to end. He served our country for three decades and what he has had to go through is just wrong,” he added.
Jordan slammed the Democrats for being on a years-long “fishing expedition” in the attempt to get at President Donald Trump, noting that they have invested so much into the Flynn case and other efforts against the president that they just can’t let it go.
Bartiromo noted how Obama-era officials knew in January 2017 before Trump was inaugurated that there was no evidence of collusion between his campaign and Russia as they alleged but they continued to push the narrative and move on with an investigation.
Jordan pointed to declassified documents that showed “there was no predicate to launch this investigation” and this was “wrong as wrong could be,” recounting the timeline of events in January 2017 as efforts were being coordinated to trap Flynn who pleaded guilty later that year to a felony charge of lying to FBI agents.
“This was a coordinated effort to go after Flynn because they knew Flynn would expose what they did,” Jordan told Bartiromo.

“And that’s what ticks me off more than anything else. They went after a three-star general because he was going to tell the world. He would figure it out as the national security advisor for President Trump, and as the former head of defense intelligence, he would figure it out. That’s why it was so darn wrong,” the GOP lawmaker added.
“He wanted to audit the Office of Net Assessments and, sure, they didn’t want him to find out about that because the Office of Net Assessments was apparently the office that were paying the informants,” Bartiromo interjected.
“How far up the line do you think this goes? Do you think this goes all the way up to President Obama to take out Donald Trump, to spy on Trump?” The Fox Business host asked.
“The January 5, 2017, Oval Office meeting — Obama and Biden are in that meeting, so it has to go all the way to the top,” Jordan replied.
“They are in there talking about it. The very next day is when [former FBI Director James] Comey goes up, and talks to the president about the dossier he already knew was false,” he added. “So, this is was all coordinated in that last few days of the Obama-Biden administration.”
