Fox News’ Shannon Bream downplays Seattle occupiers: ‘Well, they’re not beheading people!’

Leave it to the hard-left city of Seattle to upstage a spirited two-week campaign of race-baiting by Democrats and their media enablers, who were able to successfully establish the false narrative that racially motivated police brutality is rampant.

The narrative promises to pay big dividends in November — statistics fail to support the claim — but the insanity playing out in the streets of Seattle right now is raining on their parade.

Democrats are doing their best to downplay armed anarchists taking control of a six-block section of the city as police retreat, and allowed to their hold ground, and they are getting an unlikely assist from Fox News host Shannon Bream.

Bream pushed back in a segment featuring Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, when he compared those who commandeered an entire section of the city to ISIS taking over towns in the Middle East.

“Well, they’re not beheading people and throwing them off buildings!” she countered.

Patrick insisted earlier that what’s being allowed in Seattle — Mayor Jenny Durkan called the occupation “self expression” — would never happen in Texas.

“You asked before the break if what we are seeing in Seattle would ever happen in Texas, not on your life,” Patrick said. “If we had a mayor or a police chief that did this in a Texas town, we would call in the National Guard, we would call in the Texas Rangers, we would call the Department of Public Safety and we would put an end to it and we would arrest those who are, in my view, have extorted money from folks, threatening people in their own homes.”

“I want the people of America to understand what they’re seeing. This is what America will be if Joe Biden and the Democrats win,” he continued. “And for the Independents out there, and the soccer moms, those groups who may lean Democrat, your family will be in danger and all you have to do — we are seeing the laboratory right now. We are seeing this experiment. Can you imagine, Shannon, you and your family living in one of these residences in this area? Having to show your I.D. before you go into your own home? This is unimaginable and this is the future.”

Bream highlighted the New York Times running interference for radicals in Seattle, with the paper painting a picture of pleasant harmony among the people, calling it an “experiment in life without the police.”

She then asked Patrick. “Is it a bit much, are you overstating it by saying people’s lives will be in danger?”

“You bet, when you take out law enforcement, when you let the mob control your life, this is no different than ISIS taking over cities in the Middle East,” he replied. “These are people with guns threatening people who may or may not agree with them and this Kumbaya…”

“Well, they’re not beheading people and throwing them off buildings!” the Fox News host interjected.

“They’re not beheading people and throwing them off buildings,” Patrick conceded. “But they have taken away their freedom. They’ve taken away their liberty. They are now apparently charging a tax or a fee for protection like the mob would or a gang would.”
