Kayleigh McEnany shreds Susan Rice over CYA email: ‘Thou doth protest too much’

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany verbally body-slammed Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice by spotlighting the web of lies she got caught in — through her own damning email to herself.

McEnany pointed out that in an April 2017 interview with PBS (see video below), Rice claimed she knew nothing about the Obama FBI’s illegal surveillance of Trump campaign officials.

Rice’s denial directly contradicted a bizarre CYA (cover your *ss) email she had sent herself three months earlier — on Jan. 20, 2017 — the day that President Donald Trump was inaugurated.

In that self-incriminating note, Rice insisted three times that the FBI’s unlawful surveillance of Trump aides was done “by the book.”

Kayleigh is an attorney who graduated from Harvard Law School. She explained how unusual it was for Rice to pen her CYA email just minutes after President Trump was sworn in.

“To set the scene, it’s Inauguration Day and you’re moving out of the White House,” McEnany remarked. “Susan Rice is moving out, reflecting on her time here, and what is she doing? She’s not packing her boxes. She’s not being nostalgic about her time in the White House. What she’s doing is writing an email where three times she writes that President Obama emphasized to conduct the investigation into Michael Flynn, ‘by the book, by the book, by the book.’ She writes it three times.”

McEnany remarked: “As Shakespeare said, ‘Thou doth protest too much,’ Susan Rice. He didn’t have the Susan Rice part in there, but I’ll add that in.”

McEnany continued: “Rice was also asked specifically about the unmasking of Michael Flynn after she discussed it on January 5th in the Oval Office with Obama, after she wrote this email to herself on Inauguration Day. She was asked by a good journalist, Judy Woodruff, about the unmasking of Michael Flynn. And she said, “I know nothing about this.”

“This was a lie. Rice’s attorney said this was the first opportunity — three weeks after this Oval Office meeting — that she had to write this email memorializing her Oval Office meeting with Barack Obama discussing Michael Flynn. It was her first opportunity, she said.

This is interesting, because she had an opportunity on January 10th to do a passing-of-the-baton event with none other than Michael Flynn, where she praised him, wished him success, and talked about the great transition into the White House.

And then, on January 12th, she was able to participate in a story that published on that date in the lifestyle section of the Washington Post.

So she [falsely claimed that she] never had time to write this email until Inauguration Day, as she’s rushing out the door. In fact, she had an opportunity to do all of those things. I’ll leave that with you.”

Trump supporters applauded McEnany for calling out Rice’s botched attempts at gaslighting the public.

One woman tweeted: “White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany just laid out a MOAB on Susan Rice establishing that she’s a liar. Then tells the press…that’s all and have a nice day! I LOVE THIS WOMAN!”

Another simply tweeted this fitting meme.

Still another remarked that the media — which constantly tries to undermine the Trump administration with lame gotcha questions — finally met their match.

“Her preparation is unquestionable. She is a bulldog. I would NOT want to be her enemy.”

“Watching her handily deal with the vicious, anti-American press is like watching Jesus Christ throw Holy Water in the devil’s face.”

“Anyone else want their *ss handed to them?”
