Mary Katharine Ham tries to help moms at home with kids, blindsided by hate about her dead husband

Mary Katherine Ham has endured more than a woman of her age should have in the loss of her now-first husband — while pregnant with their second child. Not that this has not stopped the left from attacking her in the most vile manner, at times.

Of course. we know this is in large part because Ham is not just a conservative, but an outspoken conservative, and because the left is home to a deep-seated hatred not seen in many circles.

But more than anything else, this may be because of how she responds to the hatred.

An example of both the depravity she faces all too often and the class in which Ham, who just remarried, responds was seen this week.

In response to the coronavirus, that has resulted in the closing of schools and many places of employment, working moms are finding themselves in unfamiliar territory being home all day with the kids, often while trying to work at home.

Titled “Thoughts on Parenting in Crisis: The Mom You Are Today Isn’t Set in Stone,” she shares her own experiences as a single parent — her first husband, Jake Brewer, died in a Sept. 2015 collision with a car while riding in a charity bicycle event for cancer treatment programs.

“I’m no parenting guru, but I did have to drastically change my parenting strategy in a time of crisis & I wanted to encourage all the moms & dads taking on new roles not to naysay your own ability to do the same,” read the caption of the video.

Ham also shared the content on Twitter and this prompted a disgusting response from a coward who has since deleted his remark, asking: “You going to keep this husband off a bike?”

The social media user would later respond:

Ham could have ignored the troll completely, but she did not. Showing a level of class her antagonizer surely lacks, she made lemonade out of a lemon.

“No. But you have given me a wonderful chance to say that though we are all mortal, and some of us just *total turds*, neither fact should prevent us from embracing the life & beauty available to us every day,” Ham tweeted in response.

And while she was not willing to go “there,” there were plenty of social media users who would do so on her behalf.

Here’s a sampling of some of the responses from Twitter:
