‘Broken’ Democratic Party is beyond repair; Candace Owens ‘cannot look away’

With self-described socialist Bernie Sanders now the clear front-runner in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, party elitists who believe he cannot beat President Trump have been in a quiet panic.

But conservative commentator Candace Owens, the founder of Blexit, the movement that encourages black Americans to walk away from the Democratic Party, said that the party has another reason to afraid — Trump’s support among African-American voters.

“The Democratic party is literally broken at this time,” Owens said Sunday. “I cannot look away.”

Appearing on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Owens explained how Democrats rely heavily on the black vote, but that the rhetoric used to get that vote is not nearly as effective today.

“One of the most interesting components to look at heading into this election is the black vote, primarily because Democrats rely upon it heavily, for the last six decades,” she said. “Which is why you see them increasing the rhetoric and constantly accusing conservatives of being racist. What’s interesting is… the accusations are no longer landing in the way that they used to.”

Owens noted that in 2016, Democrats could try to scare voters on how Trump would harm the black community, but now that he’s been in office for over three years, that tactic no longer works because there are actual results to see.

“We’re seeing that we’ve had a Republican conservative president for the last four years and he’s been able to accomplish more than a black president in eight years, so the stakes are higher,” she said.

“Every poll you look at shows, I don’t care if you’re looking at a left-wing or right-wing poll, they show black support for Donald Trump has increased and that’s a detrimental threat to the Democratic Party who cannot even afford to lose five points of the black vote or their entire party is finished,” Owens insisted.

People are living better under the Trump economy than they were under President Barack Obama, Owens said, as she commented on how Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., was complaining about people coming off food stamps.

“Does [Rep. Tlaib] think that black Americans, Americans overall are too stupid to understand the importance of coming off food stamps,” she asked. “Does she not understand there’s pride in no longer having to turn to the government for handouts to be able to afford to feed your family?”

“This is the socialist argument that we should be expanding  government programs because the government should be replacing families and strong fathers in the home and it’s wrong,” Owens continued. “America as a whole is doing better under this presidency and I just do not see a way forward for them to beat Donald Trump in this election cycle.”

She defended Trump when it comes to tweeting, saying the president is “brilliant when it comes to culture.”

“Donald Trump should never stop tweeting,” she said, adding that his tweeting is how he won in 2016 and that he does a great job of blending politics and culture.

Owens said she wasn’t surprised by Sanders big win in Nevada over the weekend and expressed appreciation for socialists like Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., because they openly declare who and what they are.

“I appreciate people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” Owens said. “People could hate her, but thank goodness for her. She’s the Jeremy Corbyn of America, someone who’s willing to boldly outright say what they are after.”

Corbyn being a British democratic socialist, of course.
