Arielle Scarcella, a self-professed lesbian feminist who’s been labeled a “trans-exclusionary radical feminist” (TERF) — which is essentially a slur for feminists who oppose transgender radicalism — announced in a video last week that she’s leaving the so-called “progressive” left over its growing insanity.
“Hi, I’m Arielle, I’m a lesbian and I don’t think gender is a social construct,” the video begins. “I don’t think cis-straight white men are evil. I don’t believe that general preferences are transphobic or that there are 97 genders.”
“I don’t think that male sex offenders belong in women’s prisons. I don’t think it’s normal for people to be praised for walking around with shirts that say, ‘Kill TERFs.’ I don’t think like these people, and I no longer want to be associated with them. I’ve reached peak LGBT, and this is my coming out video.”

Scarcella is among a growing army of otherwise left-wing feminists and lesbians who’ve grown exasperated by the radical left’s attempts to erase women’s hard-earned rights.
They’re particularly concerned about a loud subset of the LGBT community that’s been trying to argue that biological men who purport to be transgender women have the “right” to compete in women’s sports and be incarcerated in women’s prisons.
But this subset isn’t just arguing for these non-existent “rights.” It’s also demonizing anyone who opposes these “rights.”
“Never in my life have I been more canceled, tortured, tormented, harassed than by members of my own community. … Never have I seen such disrespect from younger LGBT people to the older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocates who have been paving the way for us for longer than we’ve all been alive,” Scarcella explained.
“Never have I seen that use the word ‘bigot’ so frequently and not see the hypocrisy and irony in themselves saying it.”
Even the video seen above was enough to provoke an untold number of far-left activists into rushing onto Twitter so they could accuse her of being part of the “alt-right” and disparage her as a “bigot,” “grifter,” “transphobe” and “TERF.”

“Some of you have noticed this change coming onto my channel within the past few years as I’ve gotten what some people would say more conservative. And yeah, I have, haven’t I?” Scarcella then admitted.
“Since the queer movement right now is obsessed with all these different labels, and I am a fan of labels, I wanted to share a new label of mine with you. I’m coming out. I’m officially leaving the left.”
She then cited a litany of examples that highlight the left’s insanity:

“I no longer wish to be a part of this,” Scarcella continued.
And she’s not alone. Not by a long shot.
As the left grows more and more irrational, it’s only driving more and more people away, including Karlyn Borysenko, a former life-long Democrat who announced last week that she’s chosen to #WalkAway from all the insanity.

As for Scarcella, it’s not clear whether she’s ready to #WalkAway from all leftism. From the sounds of it, she’s just pulling back from the more “woke” parts of the left.
