The Left is imploding and the gloves are off! MSNBC operative Chuck Todd got dragged on Twitter for reciting a quote from an article that compared Bernie Sanders supporters to Nazis by calling them a “digital brown shirt brigade.”

Enraged Bernie Bros fired back by demanding Todd’s firing and got the hashtag “Fire Chuck Todd” trending on Twitter.

The brouhaha erupted after Todd read from a Bulwark column that asked: “What if Bernie Sanders’ internet mobs are an asset, and not a liability?”

The columnist — a Never-Trumper — argued that Bernie supporters are similar to Trump supporters in their Twitter retaliation against those who attack their candidates. Todd read aloud from the column:

“No other candidate has anything like this sort of digital brownshirt brigade. I mean, except for Donald Trump.

The question no one is asking is this: What if you can’t win the presidency without an online mob?

What if we now live in a world where having a bullying, agro-social media army running around popping anyone who sticks their head up is either an important ingredient for, or a critical marker of, success?”

Todd agreed that there are similarities between Bernie supporters and Trump supporters. One common trait is that each camp passionately supports their candidate.

“I know everyone is freaking out about this, but you saw the MAGA rally that’s preparing around here: There are people coming from three or four states! That’s real,” Todd said. “This is like Bernie.”

Washington Post blogger Ruth Marcus replied: “That is a really depressing sentence that you just read…This is the makings of an ugly primary season coming ahead of us and the makings of a potentially ugly general election campaign.”

David Sirota — a senior adviser on Bernie’s campaign — reacted by trashing Todd, saying he seems “very frightened” that voters “may actually get to participate in deciding who wins the presidency.”

Another Bernie supporter said: “This is disgusting. Chuck Todd just called Bernie supporters his “brown shirt brigade.” Bernie Sanders’ family members were murdered in the Holocaust. Chuck Todd must apologize immediately.”

Many Bernie fans said Todd must be fired.

One woman tweeted: “I have Jewish family members. WE ARE NOT BROWNSHIRTS! Chuck Todd needs to be fired immediately. I’m sick to my stomach.”

Another Sanders supporter quipped: “My grandparents fled their home country of Poland during WWII to escape the Nazi’s. Now I get called one for supporting a Jewish presidential candidate.”

One person called Todd an antisemite. This isn’t surprising, since the Democrat Party is rife with antisemites.

“To say that someone is a Nazi for voting for a Jew seems kinda… anti-Semitic. Chuck should be gone before I wake up in the morning.”

Todd’s remarks about Bernie is emblematic of the nasty civil war brewing on the Left between Bernie supporters and the Democratic Party.  It’s obvious that the Party does not want Sanders as its nominee, as evidenced by the coordinated media attacks against Bernie.

As it is, Bernie supporters have vowed bloody vengeance if he is cheated once again out of the Democratic nomination.

Kyle Jurek, a Sanders campaign staffer, warned: “If Bernie doesn’t get the nomination or it goes to a second round at the DNC Convention, f**king Milwaukee will burn! It’ll start in Milwaukee and when police push back on that, then other cities will just f**king” [burn]!”

Jurek continued:  “I’m ready to throw down now! I don’t want to wait and have to wait for f**king DNC. The f**king media, pundits. Walk into that MSNBC studios, drag those motherf**kers out by their hair and light them on fire in the streets!”

Chuck Todd laughably claims MSNBC is objective and has no editorial bias
