Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld responded to House Democrats declaring last week that their partisan effort to impeach President Donald Trump was a “historic” moment.”
“So I think we found the one thing worse than fake outrage — fake righteousness,” Gutfeld said in his opening monologue Saturday evening.
He then played a montage of Democrats patting themselves on the back for such a moment, beginning with Speaker Nancy Pelosi. They appear to be reading from the same script, as the words and phrases are repeated again and again.
“It’s like they have pompous Tourette’s,” Gutfeld declared.
“In order to sell this sham to America, they put a wedding dress on a sack of dog turds and rolled it down the aisle,” he said.
Gutfeld highlighted the moment Democratic impeachment managers walked the articles of impeachment over to the U.S. Senate, before playing a montage of liberal media figures gushing over the moment.
The image of the Democrats marching in line made for some great mockery online, but the reaction by the Trump-hating networks CNN and MSNBC was shameful.
“Ooh, these idiots can walk in a straight line without tripping over their own egos,” Gutfeld said, as he played a clip of the moment. “I’ve never seen a media this excited, celebrating the fact that these half-wits can waddle towards an open space. We learn this when we’re 4. Here they are walking. And here they are walking some more. Oh, and did you see them walking here?”
Mocking the lawmakers, a few other examples of walking were shown, to include a group of zombies.
“And yet, the media lapped it up,” he added. “Gotta hand it to the Dems, they put the money in the jukebox and how the press dances.”
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews topped all others when he went on about how Pelosi is such a believer in the ritual.
“I think she’s very reverential,” Matthews breathlessly declared.
Somewhere, you just know that Barack Obama was watching in a rage of jealousy.
“Ceremony, statues, sacraments, ritual, they’re as giddy as Bill Clinton at a slumber party,” Gutfeld said. “And they can’t even hide it.”
“So is this really historic? They say it’s only the third time someone’s been impeached, but that’s irrelevant if the process is abused,” he added. “Anyone can do impeachment if you have control of the House.”
The Fox News host said now that Democrats have “broke the seal, America will see a lot more of it.
“That’s the historical nature of this,” he added. “It’s now no longer anything special. Now impeachment is going to be as regular as me on Metamucil.”
The other historic nature of the impeachment of Donald Trump is that its the first strictly partisan impeachment — that and the speed in which Democrats rushed the process through the House.
After a bit on a really good impersonation of Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., Gutfeld took a peek at the impeachment managers chosen by Pelosi, saying they look like “People’s Court rejects.”
“Remember, when you watch these lemmings and acts of fake sanctimony, you’re footing the bill. So they’re crapping on us while we sign their checks,” he said. “Gotta remember this so when it’s over, there’s payback. We have got the vote them out and never pay them an ounce of respect ever again. And don’t forget, this is all due to the fact they can’t beat Trump, so impeachment is the next best thing.”
“Like all their big dreams after the buildup, it always collapses,” he concluded, before cutting back to a hilarious clip of the Schiff impersonator using a vending machine for the first time.
