‘Bravo, President Trump!’ Cali businesswoman forced to close shop welcomes fed intervention with open arms

A California business owner slammed Gov. Gavin Newsom for spending his time “trolling” President Trump who is actually warning he will intervene to combat the homeless crisis in the state.

Salon owner Elizabeth Novak told “Fox & Friends” on Sunday that she “absolutely” welcomed the president’s threat of federal intervention in the state as years of Democratic leadership have failed to address underlying issues contributing to the homelessness problem.

Novak moved out of Sacramento after her salon experienced multiple episodes of vandalism, with one incident occurring in broad daylight.

“It was after the last break-in that I decided to close up shop,” Novak told Fox News’ Lisa Booth.

“There was vandalism and there was a lot more than that, too,” she said, recounting how there was human defecation and urine on the “doorstep” of her salon, making it difficult to serve clients wishing to come in for services.

“There were three break-ins, but there have been a lot more before that and syringes; people in tents on my front courtyard and I’m not allowed to ask them to move,” she said.  “I didn’t feel safe, in general there. And one of the last times, someone broke in broad daylight and pushed me out of the way.”

Booth asked Novak how she felt about possible intervention by Trump who recently called out Newsom as well as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose district includes San Francisco.

“Governor Gavin N has done a really bad job on taking care of the homeless population in California. If he can’t fix the problem, the Federal Govt. will get involved!” the president had tweeted.

“I imagine Trump’s Christmas to be like that scene when the Grinch yells ‘I’m an idiot!’ and his echo yells back ‘you’re an idiot!!,’” Newsom fired back in a tweet, while not addressing the issue Trump was highlighting.

Novak noted that Trump is more concerned with the needs of California residents that its own Democratic governor.

“While Gavin is, you know, spending his time, like I said before, in trolling Donald Trump and not really doing his job, our president is going through a highly illegal impeachment process and he’s listening to us more than our own governor,” Novak said.  “And I say, bravo, President Trump.”

As BizPac Review reported in August, Novak’s plight became well-known when she took to social media and launched blistering criticism of Governor Newsom.

“I just want to tell you what happens when I get to work,” she began. “I have to clean up the syringes, I have to clean up the poop and the pee off of my doorstep…”

Trump called out Pelosi in a series of tweets last week, also targeting her over the homelessness issue.

Former California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore blamed the state’s homeless crisis on Newsom and the left’s progressive policies.

“California’s progressive left policies are killing the state,” DeVore, who left California and moved to Texas in 2011, told “Fox & Friends” last week.

“If you want a blueprint of what America will look like if the left takes over, look no further than California,” he said. “They have half of the nation’s unsheltered individuals in one state, in California. The place is falling apart.”
