Former President Barack Obama was widely panned for saying the world would be a better place if all the countries were run by women, whom he claims are “indisputably” better leaders than men.

Obama raised eyebrows by taking an apparent jab at his longtime “friend” Joe Biden by saying that all the problems in the world are caused by “old men not getting out of the way.”

Obama made the remarks this weekend while speaking at a leadership conference in Singapore.

“Now women, I just want you to know: You are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you’re better than us [men]. I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything: living standards and outcomes.”

When asked if he would consider going back into politics, Obama said no. In fact, he said most of the problems in the world are caused by “old men” refusing to step down from positions of power.

“If you look at the world and look at the problems, it’s usually old people — usually old men — not getting out of the way,” the two-term president said. “It is important for political leaders to remind themselves that you are there to do a job. But you are not there for life. You are not there in order to prop up your own sense of self-importance or your own power.”

Obama was criticized by many on Twitter, who called his remarks simple-minded and sexist.

One woman slammed Obama as “manipulative,” saying he was “injecting identity politics again ?? and playing on women’s aspirations in a patriarchal society.”

One man tweeted: “If Hussein Obama thinks women are so great then why didn’t he marry one?!”

One woman quipped: “Men = Bad Women = Good Fuel for the gender war. Thanks, Obama. As more women fill top roles, we will all become enlightened to the fact that women are not immune to the toxicity of power.”

Many wondered why Obama didn’t pick a female running mate when he twice ran for president. One asked: “Why didn’t you choose a woman Vice President?”

One Twitter user said he wishes Obama and other leaders would stop generalizing because that only causes more polarization.

Many viewed Obama’s remarks as a shot at Joe Biden, who was Obama’s vice president for eight years. In 2017, Obama said “I gained a brother” when he chose Biden as his running mate in 2008. Well, that was then and this is now.

Obama has so far refused to endorse his “brother” Joe, even though the endorsement would essentially seal Biden as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.
