Fox News host Laura Ingraham issued a stern warning to Senate Republicans and predicted a “revenge tour” by Democrats if they win the 2020 elections.
Ingraham made her appeal to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell during a monologue on “The Ingraham Angle” Tuesday, demanding he “stand up” to House Democrats and their impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

After recapping the reaction of Democrats to their “star witness” Lt. Col. Vindman, hailing him as a “hero” and “patriot” for sounding the alarm on Trump’s Ukraine call, Ingraham noted how House Republicans were “shut down” during the testimony from the National Security Council member and decorated Iraq war veteran.
GOP Reps. Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio blasted Democrats Tuesday over the hearing, as Jordan called out House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff for blocking Republican lawmakers from asking certain questions of Vindman. Scalise condemned the hearing as “a Soviet-style process we have never seen before.”
“But they don’t run the Senate, where Republicans are in the majority,” Ingraham contended. “There are more options.”
“A Senate majority leader must start using his power to stand up against the Democrats’ political reign of terror. This is McConnell’s moment. He needs to show the American people that the GOP stands united behind the man that they elected to lead this country, run our foreign policy, help advance our economy,” she continued, adding that McConnell “needs to make sure that every Republican keeps pressure on [Nancy] Pelosi, [Adam] Schiff and [Chuck] Schumer.”
Ingraham argued that McConnell needs to “stop acting as if his hands are tied” in the possibility of an impeachment trial, noting that the rules on how such a trial would be run have been unchanged “for decades and decades.”
“Probably time for some updating, don’t you think?” she asked, noting how some have contended that it would be hard for McConnell to change the rules at this stage.
“But I will say this, these times require extraordinary measures. The House Democrats have decided to launch a partisan hit on a sitting president using members of the foreign policy establishment to trigger a bogus process,” Ingraham said. “At the very least, McConnell can and should aggressively push for a blisteringly short impeachment trial.”
The Fox News host went on to give Republicans a scathing rebuke on their position before issuing an ominous warning.
“Our republic is at risk
“Republicans in the Senate need to step up or get out. If Democrats can impeach a president under these facts and a star chamber process and your response is ‘we’re powerless,’ then maybe you didn’t deserve the majority in the first place,” she declared.
“Because if Democrats take Congress, let alone the presidency in 2020, you’ll kick off a multi-year revenge tour on red-state America. They’re going to take more than our money,” Ingraham predicted.
“They’re gonna take our freedom. They’ll brainwash our kids. They’ll pack the courts,” she said. “And then they might even turn off the electricity just for good measure.”
She concluded by saying American voters should decide Trump’s fate at the ballot box, not partisan lawmakers.
“There is no reason to drag the country through damaging, partisan impeachment proceedings predicated not on legal grounds, but on pure, sheer hatred for Trump,” she said. “The fate of Trump’s presidency should be left up to the voters.”
