MSNBC opinion host Chris Matthews and his panelists insist that Rudy Giuliani is a terrible lawyer because he accidentally butt-dialed someone.
Amazingly, Matthews claimed that before yesterday (Oct. 25), he didn’t even know what the term meant. (Time to retire, Chris.)
“I don’t know this term, but I’m learning it,” Matthews said. “Giuliani butt-dialed NBC News reporter Rich Schapiro last week. The words tumbling out of Giuliani’s mouth was not directed at Schapiro. He was speaking to someone in the same room. A few weeks earlier, he did the same thing [to someone else] — this time railing against the Bidens.”
The panel reacted by slamming Giuliani and speculating on what he was talking about during his butt-dial call.
“He’s talking about our policy towards Turkey… towards Bahrain,” said Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna.
Never-Trump Republican Charlie Sykes quipped: “It is starting to occur to me that Rudy Giuliani is not that good a lawyer and that maybe he’s not the person the president ought to be trusting to do all of these things.”
Sykes added that Giuliani “really is a liability to the President,” but noted that they seem to be “joined at the hip.”
While Chris Matthews and his guests mocked Giuliani, here’s a flashback: In 2010, Matthews praised Barack Obama, saying he erased the racial divide in the United States — so much so that Matthews cooed: “I forgot he was black.”
Many would argue that saying something that stupid is far worse than accidentally butt-dialing someone.
While it’s true that Giuliani should be more careful with his phone, it’s ridiculous to insist that butt-dialing someone negates his decades of experience as a formidable federal prosecutor.
Rudy Giuliani is a former U.S. Attorney whose record of 4,152 convictions with only 25 reversals is one of the winningest in the history of the Department of Justice.
When Giuliani was the mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001, violent crimes tumbled 56% while murder rates plunged 67%. So Rudy’s not someone to be trifled with.
The media are doing to Giuliani what they have done to every other Trump loyalist — which is to attack him relentlessly for defending the president.
However, Giuliani has declared that his mission as President Trump’s attorney is not only to defend his client against sham leftist attacks but to “disrupt the world” by exposing the Democrats’ “massive corruption” with both Ukraine and China.
He said: “It’s in the best interest of my client to unravel the corruption in the Ukraine, which involves mostly collusion in the election, into which Joe Biden inserted himself.”
Giuliani said the Democratic Party has been colluding with Ukraine and China for decades in pay-for-play politics which the left-wing media gleefully ignored because they don’t want to expose “their side.”
“China is a bigger sellout than Ukraine. And the Democratic Party is scared out of their minds because this pay-for-play scandal does not just involve Biden,” Giuliani said.
Because Giuliani has been calling attention to Biden’s decades-long corruption as a career politician, Biden’s camp urged the media to censor Giuliani by blackballing him from cable TV.
Giuliani said Biden aides “are clearly rattled” by what he knows and have unleashed their Democratic media lapdogs “to destroy my reputation and silence me.”
