President Donald Trump defended his decision to pull U.S. troops from northern Syria, suggesting it’s time for the Kurds to fight their own battles with Turkey.
Trump suggested that no more American lives should be lost to the centuries-long dispute in the Middle East.
“The Kurds are fighting for their land,” Trump said at a White House press conference. “When you say they’re fighting with the U.S., yes. But they’re fighting for their land.”
Trump added: “They didn’t help us in the Second World War. They didn’t help us with Normandy…But [they want our help to defend] their land.”
The president added: “We have spent tremendous amounts of money on helping the Kurds in terms of ammunition, in terms of weapons, in terms of money. [Enough is enough].”
When asked if he’s worried about hurting the U.S. alliance with the Kurds, Trump quipped: “Our alliances have taken advantage of us. If you look at how much money we spend on NATO, the countries from Europe are a much bigger beneficiary than we are.”
For everyone whining that the United States is turning its back on its Kurdish allies, keep in mind that Turkey is also a U.S. ally.

When asked if he’s concerned that ISIS fighters will escape Syrian prisons following the U.S. pullout, Trump said no, because that’s Europe’s problem.
“They’re going to be escaping to Europe,” Trump said. “That’s what they want to go. They want to go back to their homes.”
Trump also slammed Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who criticized his decision to pull out of Syria.
“I think Lindsey would like us to stay there for the next 200 years,” Trump said. “But I disagree with Lindsey on that.”
As BizPac Review reported, saber-rattling warmongers from both political parties are outraged that President Trump is following through on his promise to the people who voted him into office.
Reminder: Trump campaigned on ending the decades-long U.S. intervention in pointless, bloody, Middle Eastern wars that have cost the United States trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives — with nothing to show for it.
The Kurds and the Turks have been fighting for centuries. U.S. intervention in their border dispute has not resulted in a resolution of the longstanding conflict, so what’s the point of keeping American soldiers there any longer?
Separately, the United States has been at war in Afghanistan since 2001. And all we have to show for it is billions of dollars in wasted tax money and thousands of dead American soldiers.
The U.S. wars and military action in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan have cost American taxpayers $5.9 trillion since 2001, according to a study by left-wing Brown University.
The study concludes by saying: “High costs in war and war-related spending pose a national security concern because they are unsustainable. The public would be better served…by the development of a comprehensive strategy to end the wars and deal with other urgent national security priorities.”
Under Barack Obama’s watch, ISIS spread to more than 18 countries around the world. Thanks, Obama!

Ironically, war-mongering leftists want the United States to continue to waste trillions of dollars and sacrifice American lives to defend other people’s borders in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, they obstruct President Trump for trying to secure the U.S. border to stem the tsunami of illegal immigration, which is destabilizing the country.
Democratic lawmakers are also fomenting violence against U.S. Border Patrol agents, who are being violently assaulted daily thanks to the Left’s constant demonization.
The Democrats’ open-borders policy is encouraging more mass illegal immigration and attacks on Border Patrol agents who are merely doing their jobs.
These are the criminals and child rapists that Democrats and their left-wing stooges in the media want to infiltrate your neighborhood.
The Left is demanding that President Trump spend trillions of dollars and sacrifice more American lives for a border dispute in the Middle East while leaving our borders completely open and unprotected.
