John Legend begs Melania after Chrissy Teigen gets raw with Trump

President Trump sparked a backlash from singer John Legend and his “filthy mouthed wife” Chrissy Teigen this weekend over criminal justice reform.

The president’s remarks calling out the celebrities on Sunday got a disrespectful response with Legend appealing to First Lady Melania Trump to “please praise this man” while his wife called the president a “p***y a** b***h.”

Trump’s initial tweet appeared to be in reaction to MSNBC’s airing on Sunday of “Justice For All,” focusing on mass incarceration and featuring an interview with Legend.

The Grammy-winner never mentioned the president or other Republicans to acknowledge their efforts in reforming the criminal justice system.

Calling out the “boring musician” and his wife for “talking now about how great it is” without playing a part “when we needed help,” Trump reminded critics that he accomplished “what no one else did” when he signed the First Step Act into law last year.

The law, which has been praised by folks on both sides of the political aisle, gave judges more discretion in handling cases of drug offenders, reducing mandatory sentences in some situations while creating more rehabilitation opportunities. But while some of the president’s expected critics actually spoke out to praise the law and its positive effect on thousands of inmates, many on the left, like Legend and Teigen, have snubbed him.

Trump’s note of that in his tweet did not get an adult response from the 40-year-old singer who has, along with his wife, been a vocal and fierce critic of the president. Instead, Legend fired back with a snarky appeal to the first lady.

“Your country needs you, Melania,” he added a moment later.

He followed that with a more disrespectful remark in another tweet saying Mrs. Trump was “otherwise occupied,” along with a photo of the first lady greeting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Teigen lived up to Trump’s description of her, joining the Twitter attack by calling him a “p***y a** b***h” for tagging “everyone” but her.

She also mocked Trump’s “pointless addition” of her name and added the vulgar insult in a follow-up tweet.

The model then sarcastically urged her 11.5 million Twitter followers not to make her comment trend as she used it with a hashtag.

Legend joined his wife in the mockery, asking Twitter users not to make her “foul mouthed hashtag trend.”

And while liberals were happy to join Legend and Teigen’s immature name-calling, plenty of Twitter users slammed the couple’s crass attacks.
