Fox News dominates in spite of attacks

Despite facing Trump firebombs, constant attacks from left-wing propagandists and their mainstream media allies, Fox News continues to win the ratings game.

For a third month in a row, the Rupert Murdoch-owned cable newser has topped all of basic cable in primetime viewership,” Deadline confirmed Tuesday, citing data from Nielsen.

“Fueled by the advertiser-afflicted Tucker Carlson Tonight, cable news big dog Hannity and The Ingraham Angle, FNC drew 2.4 million viewers for August on average, according to Nielsen. Up a smidge from July in overall audience, Fox News rose 6% in primetime viewership compared with August 2018.”

These stunning numbers come amid an ongoing smear campaign against network host Tucker Carlson, who’s been under attack from left-wing outrage mobs for having argued around the start of the month that that there is no epidemic of white supremacist violence in America.

While this media-backed smear campaign has cost the host advertisers, it clearly hasn’t cost him an iota of his conservative audience. What the host was unable to do, however, was wrest the top spot away from fellow host Sean Hannity, who has and continues to be America’s number one rated host.

“Sean Hannity’s 9 PM ET perch was still No. 1 for a fifth month in a row with 3.3 million tuning in, even with last month,” Deadline noted. “Tucker Carlson Tonight was No. 2 again with 3.1 million viewers. The Ingraham Angle’s audience of 2.6 million, The Five’s viewership of 2.5 million.”

Way down in fifth place was MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” which has experienced a nosedive in ratings ever since its long-touted Russian collusion theory was exposed as a hoax. Since May, the show’s hemorrhaged at least 11 percent of its audience and growing.

Yet despite performing so poorly, MSNBC continues to beat CNN.

Down 16% in total day viewers from last August to 870,000, and down 20% in primetime viewers from last year to 1.48 million, the NBCUniversal-owned outlet beat CNN in total viewers in both categories,” Deadline reported.

There are two silver linings for CNN, though. One, perhaps because of his bizarre rants or maybe even because of his gangster behavior, host Chris Cuomo became the first personality on the besieged network to boast an average audience of more than a million viewers since March.

“Cuomo’s show, which led the network, had an average of 1,107,000 viewers with 270,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic,” the Washington Examiner revealed.

“This was the first time a show on the network surpassed an audience of a million viewers dating back to March of this year. That month, both Cuomo and Anderson Cooper of Anderson Cooper 360° both broke that marker, but the network hasn’t since then.”

Granted, his show still finished in 23rd place …

And two, thanks to the second Democrat presidential debates, which aired on CNN in late July and were mocked for their ridiculousness, it beat FNC in the key news demo of adults 25-54.

Because of these debates, the network “was up 40% over last August in total viewers for a 1.5 million result,” and it “beat FNC in the demo with 391,000,” Deadspin noted.

Unfortunately for the virulently left-wing network, it’s still nowhere close to surpassing FNC’s overall ratings, which have reportedly kept it in first place for 212 months as of August.

In fact, many suspect CNN and MSNBC will never surpass Fox News because of their relentless attacks on President Donald Trump — a man whom the networks’ various “journalists,” pundits and commentators almost seemed obsessed with taking down.

Take CNN. Its anti-Trump bent is so deep that the network’s chief media correspondent, Brian Stelter, sat in silence over the weekend as an unhinged guest claimed on national TV that the president may have killed more people than deceased dictators Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong.

While Stelter later tried to apologize for saying nothing, nobody appeared to believe him, including the satirists at The Babylon Bee, who chose to mock the host over the whole incident by linking his telling tolerance of insane rhetoric to the network’s equally telling ratings.

“CNN host Brian Stelter blamed President Trump for the network’s falling ratings Sunday, accusing the president of killing millions upon millions of people that otherwise might have tuned into CNN,” a satire piece by the Bee reads.

“‘If Trump weren’t killing off most of America by the millions, we’d still have a pretty solid viewer base,’ Stelter bellowed at the three viewers watching Reliable Sources. ‘Airports, lobbies, waiting rooms, and gas station pumps are now playing CNN to absolutely no one, since Trump has killed them all.'”

Get it? This isn’t the first time the Bee has poked fun at CNN, not to mention its equally anti-Trump peers:

The Bee has also taken shots at Fox, though it appears the top-rated network hasn’t provided its satirists with as much as fodder as its peers have.
