Chants break out after President Trump crashes MAGA-themed wedding

President Donald Trump provided the ultimate icing on the cake for a couple getting married in New Jersey.

When PJ Mongelli and Nicole Perosi said “I do” at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster on Saturday, they had no idea the celebration to follow would become national news.

Trump, who was spending the weekend at his golf resort surprised the bride and groom – and over 200 guests – by dropping in on the event.

And he fit right in as the couple had actually planned a Trump-themed wedding.

Videos from the event showed the president in a dark suit, but no tie, arrive with Secret Service Agents in tow, to the absolute delight of the bride and groom who ran up to greet him.

The bride, who is apparently a major Trump fan, got a special hug from the president who posed for photos as chants of “USA! USA!” broke out.

An earlier video showed Trump at the cocktail hour meeting the couple who were engaged at the Bedminster resort in 2017.

“I’m the father, I’m the father! Thank you so much!” a man could be heard telling the president as he approached him.

“Great job. You did a good job,” Trump said.

“Where’s the groom? Handsome — look at his shoulders,” he added. “Nobody’s gonna mess with him.”

“No one is gonna mess with you either,” the bride said. “We love you so much.”

The bride had reportedly sent the president multiple invitations to the wedding, along with a booklet and photos of her and PJ attending Trump rallies and events, according to TMZ.

But the fact that they had never received a response made the visit Saturday even more of a surprise.

“It was a complete and utter surprise,” Mongelli told CNN.

“He was such a gentleman,” Mongelli said. “He was aces.”

But Nicole and PJ’s nuptials were no ordinary wedding celebration. The huge Trump fans literally themed their wedding after the president, using the hashtag #MakeMarriageGreatAgain on their official wedding website.

Flags in the reception hall read “Trump 2020,” guests wore “Make America Great Again” hats and even the wedding favors kept with the theme.

Every one of the guests received chocolate that looked like a bar of solid gold stamped with “Trump.”
