AOC hit with twin federal lawsuits by Democrat and Republican for ‘cowardly’ Twitter blocks

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is being sued by a former Democratic state lawmaker and a Republican congressional candidate for blocking them on Twitter.

The twin lawsuits follow a July 9th federal appeals court ruling barring President Trump from doing the same thing to Twitter users who disagree with him.

Twitter user: AOC is a thin-skinned hypocrite

In his federal lawsuit filed on July 9th, former Democratic New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind said AOC blocked him “because my critique of her tweets and policies have been too stinging.”

Hikind pointed out that “the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a ruling that elected officials cannot block individuals from their Twitter accounts, thereby setting a precedent that Ocasio-Cortez must follow. Twitter is a public space, and all should have access to the government officials on it.”

Hikind slammed AOC for being a coward and says she “should be ashamed of her attempts to silence me…She constantly brags about the millions of followers she has but is afraid of my speech. She is a hypocrite.”

So basically, Hikind contends that if President Trump can’t block his haters on Twitter, then neither can Ocasio-Cortez or other Democratic lawmakers.

GOP candidate: If Trump can’t block users, AOC can’t either

Similarly, Joey Saladino — a Republican running for Congress from Staten Island, New York — filed his own federal lawsuit in the Southern District of New York yesterday.

Saladino tweeted: “I have officially filed my lawsuit against AOC for blocking me on Twitter. Trump is not allowed to block people. Will the standards apply equally?”

In a statement, Joey Saladino said he’s suing AOC “because we need to be able to have a strong and vigorous debate between the parties.”

Saladino added that although AOC “is not in a position of power, she is the voice of her generation of Democrat voters, and bigger than some of the Presidential candidates.”

Nancy Pelosi: AOC is a clueless Twitter celebrity

Interestingly, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who tweets about everything, including cauliflower being “racist” — said nothing about the twin federal lawsuits filed against her for blocking her fellow New Yorkers on Twitter.

Earlier this week, AOC was slammed by Nancy Pelosi — the leader of the Democratic Party — for being a clueless Twitter celebrity.

Pelosi was reacting after Ocasio-Cortez refused to heed her order to vote for the $4.5 billion border package that provides humanitarian aid to illegal aliens who sneak across the US border.

Pelosi dismissed AOC for voting against party lines, saying being a Twitter celebrity does not make you an effective Congresswoman.

“While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what’s important is that we have large numbers of votes on the floor of the House,” Pelosi quipped. “If the left doesn’t think I’m left enough, so be it…We have to have a solution, not just a Twitter fight.”
