Twitter erupted with a range of theories as to why President Donald Trump attacked Fox News’ weekend anchors on Twitter.
Trump unleashed a tweetstorm last night, when he blasted Fox News weekend anchors as “worse than watching Fake News CNN” or MSNBC’s “lyin’ Brian Williams.”
While Trump didn’t call him out by name, Chris Wallace — a registered Democrat — is a vocal Trump critic who hosts Fox News Weekend. It’s likely he was referencing Wallace, whom Trump has criticized before.
Trump also called out former CNN contributor Donna Brazile by name. Brazile, a longtime Hillary Clinton friend and ally, is the former interim chair of the DNC who was ousted by CNN after being caught leaking debate questions to Hillary.
For some reason, Fox News hired the disgraced Brazile as a contributor, and pays her handsomely to bash Trump and all his supporters.
One person suggested that Trump was attacking Fox News weekend anchors after it “unwittingly broadcast a viral clip of a French bar chanting “F*ck Trump.” (video below.)
Another person opined that Trump is upset because Fox News has slowly started veering left under the direction of FNC founder Rupert Murdoch’s two left-wing sons, James and Lachlan.
“The left is infiltrating every organization and they are not going to stop until they taken over every news organization they can. Even private citizens are being silenced and scrubbed off the internet. We are one election from full-on Totalitarianism by the left.”
RINO Rick Wilson — an avowed Never Trumper — snarked: “Oh dear. Grandpa Ranty found the cooking sherry.”

This is not the first time that President Trump has lashed out at the increasingly leftist direction that Fox News has been taking.
In March 2019, Trump tweeted that Fox News weekend anchors Arthel Neville and Leland Vittert were “trained by CNN.” Like left-wing daytime opinion host Shepard Smith, Neville and Vittert have repeatedly slammed Trump.
Unlike CNN or MSNBC, Fox News is not monolithic. While CNN employs “Republican” hosts, they all hate Trump. CNN and MSNBC do not employ any full-time hosts who support Trump.
In contrast, Fox News employs a large number of leftist contributors and anchors who openly despise Donald Trump. That’s in addition to their stable of conservative opinion hosts (like Hannity and Laura Ingraham) who are Trump supporters.
So Fox News actually has diversity of opinion among its hosts, while CNN and MSNBC do not.
Also, the opinion hosts at Fox News (like Hannity) do not hide their right-leaning bias, while CNN pretends its left-wing opinion hosts like Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo are straight news “journalists.” In reality, they are partisan pundits.
You can only lie to your audience for so long before they realize you’re lying to them. That’s why CNN’s ratings are dismal.
President Trump joins a growing legion of Fox News fans who are becoming alarmed at the left-wing direction that Fox News has moved toward under the stewardship of founder Rupert Murdoch’s liberal sons, James and Lachlan Murdoch.
In April 2019, Catholic League president Bill Donohue blasted Fox News, saying it is morphing into CNN and MSNBC.
“This is not the same Fox News that is was under Roger Ailes,” Donohue said. “He would have never, ever have put up with this.”
