Trump ‘baby balloon’ approved for July 4th, but stipulations are a big win for the president

CODEPINK, a progressive organization that fancies themselves to be pro-woman and anti-war, decided that they were going to thumb their nose at President Trump during the 4th of July parade in Washington DC.

In protest of the president’s so-called “militarization” of the national holiday (or just Trump in general), the group was going to hoist a “baby Trump balloon” into the air at the base of the Washington Monument for all to see. Once they got their permit approved by the National Park Service, it seemed as though their “Trump is a Big Baby Festival” had received the green light, but according to the stipulations, Trump will be having the last laugh.

In a Tuesday release, the group announced that they had finally received the OK to hold their demonstration, but were denied the ability to fly their garish balloon two feet off the ground without a waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration.

“We are now trying to get the waiver from the FSDO (Flight Standard District Office), but feel this bureaucratic process is designed to force us to just keep the baby on the ground, instead of floating it in the air,” wailed CODEPINK logistics manager Tighe Barry. “There is nothing dangerous about helium–there are lots of helium floats in the July 4 parade. And you certainly can’t say that a 20-foot-tall balloon is going to interfere with Trump’s Air Force One and the Navy’s Blue Angels!”

Additionally, the women had demanded a “large, empty expanse at the base of the Washington Monument” that would have put the balloon right within the President’s sight. Instead, they were given two options for plots that were “outside the line of sight” which they claim denies their “right to protest the president where he could see us.”

The idea for this particular item of protest originated in England, where the “baby balloon” was first given flight. Eventually, it migrated to the United States, where progressives are too lazy to think for themselves. The inflatable, infantile rendition of the President depicts him as a crying child in diapers, holding a cell phone, and is more obnoxious than offensive.

Last month, a woman in London used an unidentified object to deflate one such balloon, while telling onlookers that “the president of the United States is the best president ever.”

Ironically, the group that brought the balloon out in protest decried the popper as “far-right” and claims that deflating their display constituted “violence.” During the same event, another Trump supporter was reportedly shouted down with yells of “Nazi scum” and had a milkshake thrown at them – which is actual violence. Things got so bad that police “barricaded 20 Trump supporters in a pub amid protests.”

It’s no surprise that CODEPINK  and other left-wing protesters want to fly a large balloon in the shape of the president, though, because love him or hate him, Trump is always the center of attention wherever he goes.
