British journalist Piers Morgan did not respond kindly to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez(D-NY) recently questioning Ivanka Trump’s credentials.
After AOC questioned why Ivanka Trump was qualified to travel to the G-20 summit, the former “Celebrity Apprentice” champion said, “Could be worse​ ​… Ivanka could have been a bartender 18 months ago​.”
The tweet was an obvious knock against 29-year-old Ocasio-Cortez’s limited work experience, which includes working as a bartender.
The first-term congresswoman worked as a bartender and waitress in Union Square before being elected to the House of Representatives in June 2018.
Ocasio-Cortez had previously tweeted about Ivanka Trump being at the G-20 summit, “It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification. It hurts our diplomatic standing when the President phones it in & the world moves on. The US needs our President working the G20. Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either.”

AOC earned plenty of blowback for the tweet, but it was Morgan’s response that specifically did not sit well with her.
“Actually, that would make government better — not worse,” she wrote in response to Morgan. “Imagine if more people in power spent years of their lives actually working for a living. We’d probably have healthcare and living wages by now.”

Morgan did not take the tweet laying down. He then began responding to various AOC supporters on Twitter and called the congresswoman’s attack on Ivanka Trump an “unwarranted jibe.”
“Why should Ivanka be belittled for being born into privilege? She’s worked very hard when she didn’t need to, and achieved considerable success. We should judge her on her merits, not deride her with reverse snobbery,” Morgan wrote in response to one critic.

He later challenged AOC by asking her if she was up for an interview with him.
“I’d love to see @piersmorgan interview @AOC,” a user tweeted.
Morgan responded, “So would I.. you up for it @AOC? Or are you all tweets & no trousers?”

Morgan’s finest moment in the feud came later when he wrote about AOC, “She’s good at Twitter, I’ll give her that. But most bartenders are.”

Morgan later ended the matter by posting an image of himself with Donald and Ivanka Trump. The image is from the season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” that Morgan won.

Morgan won the seventh season of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which was hosted and produced by Trump. The former “America’s Got Talent” judge beat out country star Trace Adkins in the final round of the competition. The judges in the final episode were Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump. Trump’s children often appeared on the program to provide their business expertise.
Ivanka Trump previously tweeted that the United States was the only country with a fully female negotiating team at the G-20 summit.
“The United States is the only country in the G20 with an entirely female negotiating team representing President Trump and advancing his priorities,” she tweeted.
