An Angel dad slammed House Democrats for their lack of action on illegal immigration, calling out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez specifically for her “ridiculous rhetoric” on concentration camps.
Steve Ronneback, whose son was murdered by an illegal alien, spoke at a press conference on Capitol Hill held by House Republicans earlier this week, calling on lawmakers and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stop playing partisan politics and cooperate with the GOP to resolve the situation at the southern border.

Ronnebeck’s 21-year-old son Grant was killed in Arizona over a pack of cigarettes in 2015 when an illegal immigrant shot him point blank in the face as he tried to count the change the man had dropped on the counter to buy the cigarettes.
“These are stories that are happening every single day,” Ronnebeck said Tuesday at the press conference with a group of House Republicans led by Texas Rep. Chip Roy.
Ronnebeck cited some of the staggering statistics of crimes associated with the illegal immigration crisis, including the high rate of heroin and other drugs that are coming through the border of Arizona, where he is from.
Approximately 300 Americans die weekly from heroin overdoses, and nearly 90 percent of it comes across the southern border, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Earlier this year, U.S. Customs and Border Protection made the largest seizure of fentanyl attempting to cross the southern border ever recorded – enough to kill more than 115 million Americans.
“Seventy thousand people a year are overdosing from heroin laced with fentanyl,” Ronnebeck said.
“How many more people need to die, how many more people need to overdose for Pelosi to come to the table and do her job?” he asked. “How many people need to die for Ocasio-Cortez to stop her ridiculous rhetoric about concentration camps?”
The Angel dad was referring to Ocasio-Cortez’s controversial remarks earlier this week that sparked backlash after making the false claim that detention facilities operated by the U.S. on the southern border are like concentration camps, setting up days of follow-up exchanges debating the inaccuracy of her claims and the controversial argument over the difference between “concentration camps” and “death camps.”
Ronnebeck, who was joined by Angel mom Mary Ann Mendoza, the mother of slain Sgt. Brandon Mendoza who was killed five years ago in a head-on collision with an illegal alien who was high on meth and driving drunk.
Declaring that Democrats have “blood on their hands” for promoting and protecting the migrants by fighting against Trump’s attempts to fix the crisis at the border, Ronnebeck slammed their inaction and resistance while praising the GOP lawmakers who are fighting on behalf of Americans.
“What the American people don’t understand is that it’s going to happen to them or to somebody they know, at this point with so many people coming across our border,” he said. “If the Democrats want to have so much contempt for our president that they won;t come to the table, well then, guess what – I’ve got contempt for them.”
