Trump sports new hairstyle for a morning, Twitter may never be the same

Is President Donald Trump sporting a new hairstyle or did the nation just see a case of presidential hat hair?

The president made an unannounced stop at a Virginia church Sunday morning to pay respects to the victims of last weeks shooting and to pray for them, walking out wearing a white baseball cap featuring the letters “USA.”

Once onstage, Trump respectfully removed his hat, revealing a somewhat slicked back hairstyle.

In addition to wearing a baseball cap, the president was wearing a polo shirt, slacks and a sport jacket, the casual dress being a rare occasion when Trump isn’t wearing a suit and tie.

According to Fox News, President Trump was returning from a round of golf, when he decided to stop in at Mclean Bible Church.

Trump’s standard comb-over hairstyle has been a focus of ridicule by critics for years and the haters can relax, as the president’s coiffed hair made a return later in the day, as seen when he spoke with reporters before embarking on his 3-day state visit to the United Kingdom.

With all the challenges the world is facing, obsession over Trump’s hair, which The Guardian called “one of the great mysteries of the Trump presidency,” ranks near the top of the list.

“The trademark bouffant, which Jimmy Fallon confirmed really is attached to Trump’s head, is remarkable for its construction, colour and seemingly tenuous hold on the president’s scalp,” the British paper said in wonder.

As for the slicked-back look, some actually preferred it:

What do you think? Does this new look have some promise to bring to an end the coiffed Trump do?

On an uneventful Sunday, the topic proved to be a good source of entertainment on the toxic wasteland we call Twitter, where social media users may not mock Sen. Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren, D-Mass., and her wigwam, but can swing away all day at Donald Trump.

With too much time and technology at our disposal, the speculation and lampooning were rampant — Americans are still coming to grips with the reality that just because you have the means to comment on every mundane occurrence doesn’t mean you have to.

Hell, those who are desperate to label Trump a racist even went so far as to claim that he was now sporting a mullet — it’s not the first time #FakeNews was employed to tie the president to the infinitesimal white supremacist movement.

Here’s a sampling of some of the other responses from Twitter:
