Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — the leader of today’s flailing Democratic Party — warned her fellow leftists to stop bloviating about impeachment and to rein in their radical rhetoric.
Otherwise, she warns, Democrats will surely be crushed by President Donald Trump in 2020.
Pelosi’s 2020 strategy: ‘Own the mainstream’
Pelosi says pandering to centrist Americans was how Democrats won back the House of Representatives in the November 2018 mid-term elections.
“Own the center-left, own the mainstream,” Pelosi told the New York Times.
Pelosi says this is the only way to beat Trump because otherwise she claims he’ll challenge the results of the 2020 election if he loses by a narrow margin and not by “an overwhelming defeat.”
“If we win by four seats, by a thousand votes each, he’s not going to respect the election.
“He would poison the public mind. He would challenge each of the races. He would say, ‘You can’t seat these people.'”
Speaking of not accepting election results, here’s what delusional Hillary Clinton was up to this weekend:
Hillary Clinton just falsely claimed the 2016 election was stolen from her. This a wild and deeply dangerous conspiracy theory https://t.co/Ss9oTe9WrP

Pelosi claims Trump won’t accept election results if he loses
Pelosi recalled her thinking in the weeks preceding the November 2018 mid-term elections, when the Democrats won back the House of Representatives (but failed to win back the Senate).
She claims she was scared that President Trump might have challenged those election results if the Democrats hadn’t won by a healthy margin.
“We had to win. Imagine if we hadn’t won — oh, don’t even imagine. So, as we go forward, we have to have the same approach.”
So basically, Pelosi says the Democrats can easily beat President Trump in 2020 as long as they don’t scare off millions of centrist Americans by espousing radical ideas like socialism and impeachment — neither of which are popular with mainstream America.
Most Americans are centrists, not far-left radicals
The media constantly squawks about socialism and impeachment because such divisive rhetoric boosts their TV ratings and page views.
But in reality, most Americans are moderate centrists — not radicals to the left or right. It’s just that extremists get the most press attention.
Newbie Democrats in Congress like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Rashida Tlaib screech nonstop about impeaching Trump. But Nancy Pelosi — who has been in Congress for 32 years — says that type of rhetoric will alienate millions of moderate centrist voters.
This is especially important since Robert Mueller returned ZERO indictments against President Trump for collusion and obstruction of justice — the two main arguments that Democrats had shrieked about to support his impeachment.
James Comey defended the FBI’s spying on the 2016 Trump campaign and the use of a “honey pot” to entrap former campaign aide George Papadopoulos.https://t.co/5a3oBeoNq1

Other Democrats are alarmed by socialism
As it is, other Democrats also oppose radical left-wing ideas like socialism.
Two-term Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy is alarmed by the socialist policies being championed by her own party. Murphy did not name names, but was clearly referring to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Murphy, the first Vietnamese-American woman in Congress, says growing up in socialist Vietnam gave her firsthand experience of the failures and horrors of socialism.
“I am offended by this whole conversation about socialism. The idea that in the greatest democracy — the greatest capitalist system in the world — we’re having casual conversation about socialism, offends me.”
