Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina opposes an “anti-sanctuary state” bill that would require Florida law enforcement agencies to cooperate with federal immigration officials to curb illegal immigration.
‘I Don’t Care If You Have Papers Or Not’
“I don’t care if you have papers or don’t have papers, where you came from, or who your parents are,” Colina told Spanish-language radio station WURN-AM.
He added: “The truth is, I’d prefer not to have this job if I have to ask fellow officers to go check where someone came from from before helping them…That’s not my job.”
Actually, Chief Colina, you would be “checking where someone came from” so you could help law-abiding residents — instead of ignoring illegals who commit crimes on top of being here in violation of federal immigration laws.
Republican state senator Joe Gruters introduced SB 168, which would prohibit “sanctuary” policies.
“SB 168 would prohibit “sanctuary” policies and require state law enforcement to comply with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel by requiring authorities to honor requests to detain those considered “removable aliens” under federal immigration law.”
Currently, an ICE detainer request is not deemed a requirement for local authorities.”
South Florida Is Home to Over 600,000 Illegal Aliens
Jorge Colina — who took office in January 2018 — is Miami’s fifth police chief in the past nine years. During that time, Miami has remained a major hub for drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
There are more than 600,000 illegal aliens in South Florida, making it the fifth-largest illegal-immigrant population center in the USA, according to Pew Research.
Despite this, Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina has no desire to help ICE officials catch illegal immigrants who commit crimes by detaining them for federal authorities.
Crimes by Illegals Spike In ‘Sanctuary State’ California
Meanwhile, in “sanctuary state” California, murders by illegal immigrants continue to spike due to the leftist state’s prioritization of illegal aliens over U.S. citizens and lawful residents.
As BizPac Review reported, a woman named Bambi Larson was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant with a long, violent criminal history who’s a self-admitted gang member.
ICE initially wanted to take Bambi’s murderer into custody, but Santa Jose — a sanctuary city in Sanctuary State California — said no way. And now a 59-year-old woman is dead, and her grieving son has nothing left of his mom but his memories.
Student Murdered by Illegal Alien
Similarly, Don Rosenberg is heartbroken that his son, Drew Rosenberg, was mowed down by a car driven by an illegal alien in 2010.
In a frantic effort to flee the scene of his crime, the illegal immigrant ran over Drew twice, killing the 25-year-old student.
Don Rosenberg said this tragedy would never have happened if the illegal alien had not been in the United States illegally.
“[My son] still would be alive if it wasn’t for this illegal immigrant,” Rosenberg sobbed.

Obama Border Chief: Build the Wall and Crime Will Fall
Border Patrol officials have repeatedly said there is an urgent crisis at the US-Mexico border, and that a wall would stem the avalanche of illegal immigration, illicit drugs, and human trafficking that occurs because there is no wall.
Mark Morgan — the former chief of Border Patrol under Barack Obama — says MS-13 gang members laugh at how easy it is to cross back and forth across the border.
Morgan slammed the Democrats and the media for their race-baiting attacks on President Trump’s assertions that violent criminals are sneaking across the border and infiltrating your neighborhood.
“I know this may be controversial, but when the President referred to [MS-13] as ‘animals,’ I absolutely said that is correct,” Morgan says.
