Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell can’t swallow the inconvenient truth that Robert Mueller’s investigation ended with no indictment of President Trump and no evidence of collusion between Russia and the 2016 Trump presidential campaign.
A furious Swalwell told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he wants to see Mueller’s final report immediately.
Keep in mind that Mueller delivered the anti-climactic report to Attorney General William Barr late-Friday evening. Even President Trump has not read the report yet.
Unhinged Eric Swalwell Can’t Let Russia Obsession Go
“We want to full report!” Swalwell fumed. “We want it now and we want it before the president is going to get it or be able to make any edits.”
Even CNN’s Trump-hating opinion host Wolf Blitzer asked why Congress should get the report before POTUS does.
“Why should Congress — the legislative branch — get it before the executive branch, the president of the United States himself?” Blitzer asked.
Swalwell Worried About Something That Hasn’t Happened
A frustrated Swalwell stammered that it’s because Trump is a “subject” in the investigation. Yeah, so is the entire United States of America.
Keep in mind that President Trump was a “subject” in the Mueller probe but was never a “target.” That’s an important distinction that Swalwell is hoping CNN’s clueless audience doesn’t understand.
“He is a subject. There is an honor code that presidents — when they are subject to investigations — back off, that they followed the rule of law. It is inappropriate he would even touch this.
If he didn’t do anything wrong, he would keep his hands off it and say the public could read every word, every sentence. He is not going to do that. I think it will taint its release.
We’ll fight and we’ll win. The American people voted so we [Democrats] have the subpoena power now.”
CNN Promised for Two Years that Trump, Ivanka, and Jared Would All Be Indicted
Swalwell then suggested that the Democrat-led House of Representatives might want to subpoena their hero — Robert Mueller himself.
“It’s my view that the report will not be fully accepted by the American people until we hear from Bob Mueller,” Swalwell shrieked.
Yeah, Mueller’s going to love that.
When asked if he was surprised that no new indictments were handed down, Swalwell deflected by vowing to relentlessly investigate Trump even though there’s NO EVIDENCE that he committed a crime or an impeachable offense.
Keep in mind that CNN, its contributors, and countless Democrats all predicted that Mueller’s investigation would end with the indictments of President Trump, Jared Kusher, Ivanka Trump, and other top White House aides. That — like the Russia collusion hoax — did not happen.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s top prosecutor launched a probe this week into Hillary Clinton’s alleged collusion with Ukrainian officials to rig the 2016 election in her favor. He says there’s evidence to back up these accusations.
