If you’re Democrat and you can’t win elections fairly, you try to change the rules. But that’s OK with President Trump, who says he can win the popular vote if the Democrats succeed in their dubious fantasy of abolishing the Electoral College. (They won’t.)
Trump: Popular Vote Ignores Middle America
Trump tweeted: “Campaigning for the Popular Vote is much easier and different than campaigning for the Electoral College. It’s like training for the 100-yard dash vs a marathon.”
“With the Popular Vote, you go to just the large States. The Cities would end up running the Country.
Smaller States and the entire Midwest would end up losing all power. And we can’t let that happen. I used to like the idea of the Popular Vote, but now realize the Electoral College is far better for the USA.”
Besides, why do the Democrats — who think all whites are white supremacists — want the popular vote to determine the presidency?
The United States is still a white-majority country. By leftist logic, that means that if all the “racist” white Americans voted, Trump would win hands-down.
Dems: If You Can’t Win Fairly, Change the Rules
President Trump posted the tweet in response to Democrat shrieks that the United States should get rid of the Electoral College since they’re terrified of the very likely prospect that Trump will skate to re-election.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, with 63 million votes versus 61 million for Trump. But the United States has used the Electoral College system since 1787.

Dems Loved Electoral College In 2016
Democrats loved the Electoral College system in 2016, because all the mainstream polls indicated that Trump had no chance to win the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency.
The Electoral College system generally favors Democrat candidates, given the United States’ current demographics.
But after Trump proved them wrong, they want to change the rules and abolish a system that they once embraced and which has been in place for more than 230 years.
Tucker: Dems Want to Dismantle US Institutions
Fox News host Tucker Carlson blasted Democrats for wanting to eradicate longstanding American institutions, such as the Electoral College and having a 9-member Supreme Court.
Democrats also want to lower the voting age to 16, allow illegal immigrants to vote, and import in as many illegal aliens and third-world refugees as possible in order to increase their voting bloc. Why? Because they can’t win fair-and-square.
“The Electoral College keeps the country from becoming a colony of California, Chicago and New York. It demonstrates that America is a union of equal states, not a collection of provinces that revolve around a few powerful cities.
For 230 years, it has worked better than any other country’s systems in history. But because it didn’t help the Left win a presidential election two years ago, they want it gone forever.
And along with it, any restrictions at all on who can vote: Violent felons, illegal aliens and even children. That’s the new Democratic coalition. Whatever it takes.
The Supreme Court, the Electoral College, voting restricted to citizens, burn it all down!
What else stands in the way of the left’s quest for power? How about the Senate? The border? Well, the Left is already telling us it’s immoral do defend our border.
The First and Second Amendments? They hate those. Our newly packed Supreme Court could get rid of them and maybe they will.
But keep in mind, once your institutions have disappeared, it is nearly impossible to rebuild them.”
