Illegal immigrant with no license decapitates young dad, drags his body; sentenced to only 14-months

On Friday a Wake County, North Carolina, judge sentenced an illegal alien to a paltry 14 months in jail for the hit-and-run he performed last September after he crashed into and killed Jamar Beach, 26, a black Raleigh resident and father of a 2-year-old.

Beach’s family was devastated, especially in light of the fact that he’d still be alive if the border had been secure enough to prevent illegal alien Neri Damian Cruz-Carmano from entering the country.

“He had no business here in the first place and he should not have been operating a vehicle,” Beach’s mother, Cameo Robinson, said to local station WTVD. “He didn’t have a license. So, therefore, he’s being treated better than the citizen who’s been killed.”

Much better, though the judge has maintained he had no choice because investigators had only been able to charge Cruz-Carmano with felony hit and run causing serious injury/death.

“Investigators said they could not gather enough information to charge Neri Damian Cruz-Carmano — who entered the country illegally from Mexico — with driving while impaired or causing the accident, even though they believe he did both,” WTVD notes.

The judge reportedly sentenced him to the maximum 20-33 months in prison, but with time served, he’ll be out of jail in just 14 months.

“He gets to go home with his two children. He goes home to his wife. My grandson, he doesn’t have a father,” Robinson said, referring to Beach’s 2-year-old son.

During Cruz-Carmano’s hearing Friday, Robinson and other members of Beach’s family held up pictures of him and his son and also reportedly “cringed when the defense attorney pleaded for leniency.”

“He was here, your honor, to try to make a better life for himself, to try to send money back to his family in Mexico, to work here,” defense attorney Woody Vann argued in court. “It’s a story that is repeated in this courtroom or on that street corner daily and in the newscasts daily.”

His latter point wasn’t wrong.  Congressional Democrats and their media allies routinely portray illegal aliens as victims versus the criminals every single one of them happens to be. Hopping over the board illegally is a crime. So is driving without a license. But the left doesn’t care.

Sadly, neither does recently elected Wake County Sheriff Gerald M. Baker. After being sworn into office three months ago, the Democrat sheriff cancelled his department’s longtime partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Wake County had been one of only six in North Carolina that partnered with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to transfer to federal custody people who have been arrested and are believed to be in the U.S. illegally,” local station WRAL reported at the time.

“At this point, the sheriff is not going to be honoring those requests of detaining individuals from ICE,” Baker’s legal adviser Rick Brown said.

It’s unclear whether this means that Baker also won’t honor an immigration detainer on Cruz-Carmano, which reportedly is exactly what Beach’s mother is seeking.

“I’m going to encourage deportation because he has no business here,” she said to WTVD. “Now that he’s committed this horrendous crime, he definitely doesn’t deserve to be in America. Because if he wanted to be in America he would have come legally.”

The problem is that deportation will do little to stop him. An estimated 76,000 illegal aliens continue to sidle across the border every single month, in part because of an adamant refusal by congressional Democrats to allow President Donald Trump to secure the southern U.S. border.

The Democrats have become so radical in regard to illegal immigration that they’re currently trying to stop him from constructing a fortified wall along the length of the whole border. Democrats have also in recent months called for abolishing ICE.

In the utopia envisioned in every Democrat’s head, including presumably that of Baker, illegal aliens like Cruz-Carmano would simply serve their sentence and then be allowed to return to society. Never mind that illegal aliens have a track record for being repeat criminals.

It doesn’t sound like much of a utopia, does it?

Local user media users are hopeful that maybe, just maybe, Beach’s death will serve as a wake-up call to local Democrats like Baker, among others;
