President Donald Trump pulled no punches on Saturday in going after conservative firebrand Ann Coulter, slamming her as a “wacky nut job.”
An early supporter of Trump’s, Coulter has been a fierce critic over his inability to get the funding needed for a wall on the southern border.
When an agreement was reached in January to end the government shutdown that didn’t give Trump the funding he requested, the author of “In Trump We Trust” called him “the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.”
She also called Trump’s State of the Union address, which did not go into great detail on the gridlock over building a border wall, “the lamest, sappiest, most intentionally tear-jerking SOTU ever.”
Early Saturday, Coulter tweeted that people who support Trump aren’t getting what they want, which followed a tweet Friday night questioning whether Trump wants to stop “the invasion” of Central American migrants on the southern border.
Lost in the mix is that he did declare a national emergency on the crisis at the border.

The president would later post tweets directed at Coulter, saying not only up is he up against “radical” Democrats, but also members of his own party “unwilling to fight.”
He also insisted that he is “winning on the border.”
“Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasn’t figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border. Major sections of Wall are being built…” Trump tweeted.
In a follow-up tweet, he said tens of thousands of illegal aliens are being stopped from entering the U.S. and promised– in capital letters — “much more” to come.
“….and renovated, with MUCH MORE to follow shortly. Tens of thousands of illegals are being apprehended (captured) at the Border and NOT allowed into our Country. With another President, millions would be pouring in. I am stopping an invasion as the Wall gets built. #MAGA,” the president tweeted.
Interestingly, Coulter has been active on Twitter since the president’s posts, but has not directly responded to the slam.
Not that folks weren’t anticipating it.

Liberals are certainly chomping at the bit for a Trump-Coulter Twitter feud:
Coulter retweeted a tweet from Eddie Scarry, a writer at the Washington Examiner, which was posted minutes after Trump’s tweets.
Scarry tweeted: “Country is in trouble, Trump does nothing, Republicans don’t care and Democrats are gleeful. ENJOY YOUR COUNTRY WHILE YOU CAN!”
Trump is spending the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort and Coulter is reportedly scheduled to speak Monday at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, which is not far away.
Former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka got in on bashing Coulter, questioning if she is really serious about a wall while calling her a “charlatan.”
“Ann Coulter is a charlatan who is unhappy even when she is in the process of getting what she claims to want. Perhaps Coulter was never serious about the wall at all?” he tweeted.

David Wohl, who describes himself as a campaign surrogate for Trump, went even further, saying Coulter is now among the “lunatic fringe.”
She’s an attention-seeking nutjob. She went from a prominent voice in the conservative movement to a prominent voice among the lunatic fringe.
