Scarborough vows to swear ‘under oath’ he ‘never, ever once heard Trump say anything racially insensitive. Never once! ‘

There have been few cable news personalities more critical of President Trump than MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, but that didn’t prevent the “Morning Joe” co-host from an inspirational defense of the president regarding racially insensitive language.

Recalling a relationship that spanned well over a decade, Scarborough said he would testify in an affidavit that he and blushing bride Mika Brzezinski never heard Trump use such language.

“We saw him for 12 years behind closed doors,” Scarborough said, motioning toward his wife. “Never, ever, once — I’ll say under oath, I’ll put into an affidavit — never once heard him say anything close to being racially insensitive. Never once!”

Comedian and magician Penn Jillette said in August that he heard Trump “say racially insensitive things that made [him] uncomfortable” on the set of Celebrity Apprentice.

This coming when former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman made the unsubstantiated claim that she heard tapes of Trump using the N-word on the set of the NBC series.

In fact, Scarborough made a similar comment at the time.

“He did not say racially insensitive things, at least around us, behind closed doors,” Scarborough said. “In fact, if you just look at the women that he dated and continued to date, it certainly goes against that. The people that he hung out with, the friends that he had, the acquaintances he had in Atlantic City — it certainly would suggest that was not a part of Donald Trump’s personality until he decided in a grotesque way to make it a part of his political persona.”

As Newsbusters pointed out, Scarborough was not absolving Trump from playing the race card — allegedly.

“To the contrary,” the media watchdog site noted. “Scarborough’s point was to bemoan that whereas in private Trump can be congenial and non-racist, the President has supposedly made a conscious decision to adopt a combative, race-baiting public persona.”

Another indication that Scarborough hasn’t suddenly flopped from his flip to begin liking Trump was that he claims more and more Trump supporters are privately admitting that the president Trump is not up to the job, according to Newsbusters.

“I think we’re going to start seeing some really serious Republican challenges,” the MSNBC host said.

There’s little to indicate that Scarborough is onto something, but it’s an easy charge to make with the border wall issue hanging in the air.
