Reports of President Donald Trump’s possible pick as the new ambassador to the UN were met with hypocritical insults by the left, as demonstrated by reactions on CNN.
CNN media reporter Brian Stelter joined host Anderson Cooper in dissing State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert who is rumored to be nominated as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, replacing outgoing official Nikki Haley.
“Another way to look at this is through the lens of this is another example of the extraordinary relationship between Fox News and this administration,” Cooper said on “Anderson Cooper 360” on Thursday, referring to Nauert’s previous stint as a Fox News host.
“Yes. And that merger that we have seen between Fox and Trump, it may be good for Trump – it might make him feel more comfortable with the staff around him – but I don’t think it’s good for America,” Stelter responded.
“Look at the way he’s recruited not just Heather Nauert but others in his administration as well, recruiting via television,” he continued, citing current White House Deputy Chief of Staff and former Fox News executive, Bill Shine, as an example.
“But it may not be the best way to recruit leaders for the country,” Stelter added before insulting the 48-year-old who arrived at the State Department in 2017.
“I think it may be better to call her a professional pundit,” Stelter declared.
“She was wanting to be a talking head in the ‘90s as a twenty-something. She was a consultant and a lobbyist briefly. But she really just wanted to be on television and she worked at that for years. She was on a number of conservative talk shows,” he said, noting Nauert’s time co-hosting “Fox and Friends” before going over to the State Department.
“So it’s a very unusual resume indeed for this job,” Stelter concluded.
In another segment, CNN senior political analyst and former White House adviser to four presidents, David Gergen, addressed Nauert’s “very thin” resume.

The men’s disparaging outlook on Nauert’s rising career was echoed by the network as well, with CNN reporting on how her loyalty to Trump and the administration seem more important than her actual experience.
“Experience matters less to the President, an avid fan of Fox News, than Nauert’s loyalty to the White House, the fact that she’s a woman and her ability to be a polished proxy on television, according to sources familiar with his thinking,” CNN reported Friday.
One can imagine the outrage if Fox News had disrespected a female anchor at CNN or another liberal media outlet.

The best part was when Stelter, in his high-pitched, effeminate little voice said “this is someone who wanted to be on TV, to be a pundit in her 20s.”
