Sam Donaldson just dumped on Trump’s ‘small base’: They ‘don’t run this country and they never will’

Retired liberal ABC News reporter Sam Donaldson trashed President Trump‘s “small base” of voters, vowing they will “never” run the country.

“I think they [Trump’s base] are a minority,” Donaldson told CNN host Brian Stelter. “His small base is not going to run this country. They don’t now and they never will!”

Donaldson, 84, worked at ABC News for 46 years (from 1967 to 2013). Many Americans thought he was already dead, but his hatred for Trump has apparently brought him back to TV.

He made the remarks while discussing the White House ban on CNN’s Jim Acosta, whose hard pass was revoked after he assaulted a female WH intern.

Donaldson said he gave an affidavit in support of Acosta amid rumors that CNN and Acosta are suing the Trump administration over the revocation of his “hard pass.”

For the record, that doesn’t mean Jim Acosta’s press credentials have been pulled; it merely means that he’s not allowed on the White House grounds for security reasons after assaulting a female WH staffer.

“It’s my understanding that CNN and Acosta have sued, that there will be a court hearing on Tuesday [November 13],” Donaldson said. “You know, Harry Truman had it right…He said, ‘If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.'”

First of all, President Trump can stand the heat — it’s the media that get triggered whenever he fights back at their fake news and leftist activism masquerading as objective news.

“The president seems to believe that if he wants to do something, it should be done — Constitution aside, Congress aside,” Donaldson puffed. “It doesn’t work that way. And he’s not going to get away with it.”

It’s unclear what Sam Donaldson was referring to, since Jim Acosta does not have a Constitutionally guaranteed right to be on the White House grounds.

Keep in mind that CNN has a stable of Trump-hating reporters (including the race-baiting April Ryan and Abby Phillip) who can cover the WH without Acosta.

As BizPac Review has reported, Acosta has repeatedly hijacked White House press briefings to make himself the day’s viral YouTube sensation.

Every week, Acosta suffers a deranged meltdown stemming from his pathological efforts to trash President Trump.

Last month, Acosta sent a profane direct message to someone who teased him after Jim complained about the music at a Trump rally.

One of Acosta’s most unforgivable gaffes occurred in June 2018, when he bragged that he had intentionally disrupted the historic peace summit between North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and President Trump as revenge for not being allowed to sit in on their meeting.

“Hey, if they’re not going to let me in the f*cking meeting, that’s what happens,” Acosta boasted on a damning audio clip. “That’s the way it goes, baby.”

After the outburst, President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, said Acosta’s press credentials should be revoked because he has repeatedly shown that he’s interested in making himself the news rather than covering it.
