Fox News’ Laura Ingraham called out Oprah Winfrey for race-baiting while stumping for Georgia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate.
Ingraham noted that the better President Donald Trump does with black Americans, the more “race obsessed Democrats and their shameless media enablers become,” as she highlighted Oprah drawing on terrible events from last century to engage in pure, unadulterated scaremongering.
“I am here today because of the men and because of the women who were lynched, who were humiliated, who were discriminated against, who were suppressed, who were repressed and oppressed,” Winfrey says in a clip run. “And I refuse to let their sacrifices be in vain.”
“What was Oprah Winfrey doing in Atlanta if not fear mongering?” Ingraham asked.
“You have to hand it to Oprah. She is a great speaker,” she said. “But I kinda liked her better when she was giving way Toyotas and refrigerators.”
“To tie the candidacy of Georgia’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp to the scourge of racism and even lynching?” Ingraham added. “Come on, Oprah. It’s dehumanizing, it’s completely baseless. It’s totally cruel and again I say you’re much better than that. And much bigger than that.”
She then mocked the media mogul for her “Live Your Best Life” marketing shtick, and suggested that Winfrey’s efforts — which could be a practice run for a campaign of her own — distracts from real racism.
“This kind of broadbrush race-baiting desensitizes us to the real racists out there who should be condemned and prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law when they comment heinous crimes and use violence to hurt and maim people of a different race,” Ingraham said.
“What did Kemp ever do aside from running against a black opponent? Nothing.”
Ingraham then ran clips of Democrats engaged in “true racial obsession and outright racism,” to include Hillary Clinton joking that all black people look the same, which seemed to escape the attention of Oprah and others on the left.
