Sen. Bill Cassidy delivered a scathing reality-check in the Senate hallway when he was confronted by a protester using her children as political props.
The Louisiana Republican did not back down when he was met by Alethea Torrellas Shapiro and her children as he was walking in a Senate office building, giving the activist a reaction she probably did not expect.
“Sen. Cassidy, can you please apologize to my children for ruining their futures?” Shapiro asked Cassidy.
Taking out his earbuds, the senator addressed the children directly in his response.
“Hey, guess what. … I know your parents are using you as tools,” he said.
“No, we’re not using them as tools. We’re not using them as tools,” Shapiro interrupted.
“But in the future, if somebody makes an allegation against you, and there’s no proof for it, you will be OK. Thank you,” Cassidy said, and then just walked away.
At the end of the video, Shapiro could be heard yelling after the lawmaker.
“Shame on you for not believing women and for ruining my daughters’ lives,” she shouted.

The mother had been bringing her children to Capitol Hill to protest for days, according to her social media posts which have apparently been taken down. The Daily Caller caught Shapiro’s Facebook post in response to Justice Brett Kavanuagh’s confirmation, describing how she planned to use her kids to shame “these horrible atrocious men” in the Senate.
Other posts by Shapiro, also deleted, show she had been attempting to harass senators and Kavanaugh for days, always with her children in tow.

“Shapiro is an activist who calls extremist feminist activist Linda Sarsour her hero and regularly goes on profanity-laced tirades against GOP senators like Chuck Grassley,” The Daily Caller reported.
Cassidy’s no-nonsense response to her shameless attempt to use her children was applauded on Twitter.
